I started collecting little cars when I was four and living with my USAF parents overseas. The BX toy sections always had Matchboxes, Dinkys, and Corgis, and
they accumulated. They came back to the states in '67 and I started getting HW instead of MB. I've since sold off all my Corgis and Dinkys but still
have MB and HW. My best examples are '73 and '74 redlines bought with paper route money that went straight from the peg into foam-lined slots. I also
collect show car, Ferrari, art deco (Figoni et Falaschi et al), coachwork and styling prototype 1/43 handbuilt miniatures. My 1:1 collection includes a '70
Torino Cobra convertible, an R-code 428 '66 T-bird, and a '97 Hurst/Lingenfelter WS6 T/A. It helps a lot that the wife loves cars as much as I do.
