Wednesday Night Cruising's Back, On World Famous Van Nuys Blvd.!

REALLY?!?!? WOW!!!! I remember cruisin' Van Nuys in my V-8 Vega in the late 70's, looking for Z-cars and Porsches to race (and usually won, too, aslong as my clutch, tranny or rear-end didn't blow up!) Unfortunately, cruise night got kinda' outta hand the last couple of years, where traffic wouldbe at a dead standstill for blocks around. But I'm glad to see that LAPD is involved, to keep a semblance of order, so that it continue to exist!<br><br>Far too many incredible cars to comment on, but that blown Kaiser is awesome! And wtf is that T-Bird with the Vista-Cruiser roof???

<p>Finally got some time to enjoy the pixs. Very nice and the location adds so much more to the feel in the air I bet. V-8s andbabes.....Ahhh..........Thanks,I needed that.</p>

Never heard of it, I've seen better and MUCH more muscles in Lubbock Texas on a hot August night!! You California guys should get out more.......

<strong>Lol, leave it to good ol' Dave to come up with a new low, slamming a car show/cruise night thread..........<img src="http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/eyes.gif" alt="image"><br><br>Guess the time out didn't work.........<img src="http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif" alt="image"><br><br>To those who don't know, Van Nuys Blvd., in Van Nuys, Ca., was once the premier spot for cruising in The Valley........<br><br>Started in the late '40's, cruisers would come with their cars from as far south as San Diego, and as far north as Sacramento, just to cruise the Blvd.on Wednesday nights........<br><br>Groggerbug's correct, it started getting too crazy and crowded, so after 1980, the L.A.P.D. started shutting down the Blvd. on Wednesday nights, thenFridays as well, when we tried to change the cruise night.......<br><br>It worked, we were all discouraged and just gave up, too mush hassling by the Police.......<br><br>But, and still to this day, Van Nuys Blvd. is to Los Angeles, as what Woodward Ave. is to Detroit, when it comes to cars, and cruising, and i've also hadthe honor of cruising Woodward back in the late '70's, coming up from Chicago, just to be a part of that famous Detroit cruising experience........<br><br>But i don't think that a movie's ever been made about Woodward Ave., as there was about Van Nuys Blvd., released in '79 under the samename.........<br><br>I remember the old I-80 Drive-In, (is it still there?) south of Chicago, being packed every night for the first week of the VNB movie showing, so Chicagoanssure knew about it........<br><br>I will admit, it was kinda hokey, but has since become a Cult Classic for cruisers and car nuts today........<br><br>There's one thing i'm still trying to figure out tho.........<br><br><font size="4">Where the F*** is Lubbock, Texas anyway?!! <img src="http://redlinesonlinemessageboard.yuku.com/domain/bypass/images/lol.gif" width="36" height="41" alt="image"><br></font><br>And does anyone really give a fat rats a$$?<br><br>Thanx to those who had a look, and posted a positive reply........<img src="http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/happy.gif" alt="image"></strong>
