Question for digital camera experts
I wiped the pictures off my SD card and formatted it before going on my holiday.
When I got back I downloaded the pictures to the computer and some of the pictures I had previously wiped show up again.
You cant see them when viewing them on the back screen of the camera only when you remove the card and view from the card,
How come?
Cheers Martin.
Re: Question for digital camera experts
Did you format the card through the camera or just delete images? Also, are you using the same card in different cameras? The reason I ask this is cameras creat a specific directory where they store the pics. My Pentax DSLR creates a directory call Pentax100. My Samsung creates a directory with a diffferent name and therefore keeps photos in a different place on the same card. Formattting from one camera may not remove the directory and images created by another camera. Just a thought.

Re: Question for digital camera experts
Hi Allan, I first deleted the pictures on the card via the camera then formatted the card all on the same camera,Nikon d40
The pictures show when viewing them on the tv via the Wii and when downloading them via the cable to the lap top but not while viewing the on the rear screen on the camera.
Re: Question for digital camera experts
Do you have a card reader for your computer? If not, you should get one. Not expensive and much quicker image transfer. It will also show as a separate drive letter on your computer and you can see if there are any directories, or subdirectories that did not get deleted.
