Family That Lost their Home Needs Help: Update

Hi all.

I have never done this before , but here goes.

My wife is a 6th grade teacher at Longwood Middle School in Middle Island, NY (Long Island). One of her students lost their home in a fire this past Thanksgiving weekend. That has to suck! I thought I'd reach out to the good folks here and see if I can help pull in a couple of bucks to send to her family. Paypal, checks, money order-whatever is fine. I'll be sure to channel any donations her way.

This 12 year old girl is so upset-she blames herself for the fire. She was doing her nails in her bedroom when apparently the bottle of nail polish or remover that was open on her night stand fell over near a candle which were both near an open window. She left for a bit and returned to a room engulfed in flames. The rest of the house went down pretty fast since it was so windy. So sad.

There were SIX kids, the house was rented, no renters/property insurance. They are all livving in temporary housing-a motel. They lost everything.
