Mystic Seer build Thread

I hope I finish this or this will be a complete waste of time....LOL

I've long been a Twilight Zone fan and in my top five is certainly "Nick of Time". There is a pretty talented guy who built some reproductions of the Mystic Seer in this episode.

Anyway, he said that he isn't building any more so I decided to give it a go. There are some small cheap-o bobble head knock offs out there which I bought to get the head. (hasn't arrived yet) Here's where I'm at.

Now mine won't actually spit out the fortunes but you'll be able to pull one out. It will be a functional napkin dispenser/bank though. I have a friend who is quite the artist that I'm going to get to hand paint the stars and labels as they were on the one on the show. Hopefully I'll have more to post tomorrow.

One of my favorite episodes too Perry. Shat is at his OCD'ing best in that one..lol.

So anyway.......The reproductions I've seen have all been red. Granted, it makes for a nice display piece red but it appears to me in the show they are silver or just plain old metal color. In one it almost looks like it was made from zinc. Doing it a little different I'm going with silver.

Different direction. Two stage silver (I didn't like the other). First black, then silver over it. I just had to place the head to see how it would look. [ATTACH=CONFIG]30163[/ATTACH]

Anyway, it's now silver. I'll post a finished pic as soon as it's finished.
