Another Garage Sale Finds Thread

It seems as though [I]everyone[/I] is scoring some killer stuff at garage sales this year! And were only into May!

Here's what I've ran across the past few weeks.

Over 300 early '50s to mid '60s Hot Rod Magazines, with a couple PHR's and some B&W racing photos thrown in for good measure. The mags are as close to mint as they come... surprising for being stored in a basement for 40-50 years. They were a dollar each. :cool:

Vintage brass racing trophies, with a bakelite base. The one on the left is marked "First Place - 1955 Fairburn Dragstrip 78.7 MPH" Paid $15 each, didn't even try to haggle. I also scored the little porcelain top farm table for $45. It cleaned up nicely and the white paint on the legs has a great patina.

This lil' box is full of b&w racing photos, original Shelby Cobra & Ferrari ephemera, vintage dragstrip and Indy 500 ticket stubs, NOS AC Delco plugs, a Lufkin caliper, vintage X-Acto knife kit in a nice little dovetailed wood box... tons of other stuff.

Original "blueprint" drawing for a Man-A-Fre advertisement. Thought about re-selling but this is too cool. Wife wants me to have it framed and hung in the garage. $10 but after I dropped the coin on this... they let me have it.

Those of you familiar with SBC's will know the rarity of these. Early '60s Man-A-Fre intake manifold for a 283/327... holds 4 Rochester 2G carbs. I won't mention what I paid, it wasn't cheap but I think I could make a few bucks when I go to resell it.

3' porcelain Pan Am Gasoline & Motor Oils sign. The bullet holes give it some character! I probably overpaid but I fell in love with the color. This will get hung with my other signs in the garage.

6' double sided porcelain Pure gas sign. She's a little rough but I think I did good for $160. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it or flip it. I took some fine steel wool and soap to it this morning and it started to clean up really well.

I'll get pics later, but I scored a rare Atari 2600 Jr/Rainbow with two joy sticks, a set of paddles, and a mess of games, including River Raid (Activision). works good, but will need a new 9V power supply. Also, I scored an all-chrome Huffy bicycle from 1963 with the rack and TAIL LIGHT INTACT! A bag of NOS bicycle reflectors from the 60s and MEGA RIG stuff for 25 cents. It was in a neighborhood sale down the road from my house. I also bought an old stove-top popcorn popper thinga-ma-jig.

I'm going to be keeping the Mega Rig stuff, and I'll be picking the Huffy for things I might need. The remains I plan to park and part out-unless an adventerous soul wants to take the whole thing and restore it.
