Anybody know anything about old firetrucks? Pics added...
I have a buddy that is liquidating his late step fathers estate and he came across a 1962 Seagrave Firetruck. It has been restored and looks to be in great shape from the pics I've seen... Problem he is having is that he has no idea value or where to even start on selling it.

Re: Anybody know anything about old firetrucks?
Some old rigs may be worth a lot of money, but you need pics, lots of pics. And hope somebody here is better trained in this area as I have no idea.
Re: Anybody know anything about old firetrucks?
Thanks.. He has 4 or 5 pics now, but I can have him take as many as needed.. hopefully somebody here may know something, if not, I'll explore the internet for answers!

Tom:
Being a FF I might help. Is it a engine, ladder, pump size, open or closed cab.
There are a lot of factors that play into it.
Some older trucks are more desirable than other and some really sweet old trucks you can't hardly give away.
Was it done back to factory specs with original parts?
I think the biggest problem is having a place to put it, they take up a lot of room.
More pics would help
We sold a old engine a couple years ago, it was a 1971 and only got $3500.00 for it. It was all original but not restored.
Hope this gives you some insite.

Re: Anybody know anything about old firetrucks?
I think it is a pumper with an open cab. I'm gonna have him send me the pics he has of it and see if he knows if it was original parts restore or not. He said he thought he had put around $30k into the restore.. My guess is he won't get that back out of it. I'll update when I get some more info. Thanks for the help !
Re: Anybody know anything about old firetrucks?
I just talks to him he told me it was restored with original parts and has a removable hard top. Hes going to send me the pics so I should be able to post them tomorrow

Tom:
Is that you riding the tailboard? LOL!!!!
Looks like a really great job done on it. Do they have a way of tracing the history of it, like what FD first owned it?
I know departments that have bought old trucks back for the history.

Re: Anybody know anything about old firetrucks?
Thats actually my buddy on the tail... I will also check to see what if any history he can find on it. Any other ideas on where he can go to try to move this ? Thanks for all your help so far !

PAWN STARS!
Lol, all joking aside, everybody loves this style, its very popular, so it should bring more money. I'd say he should at least come close to what he has in it.
