Re: Kind of wondering why!!
To piss you off, of course!
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
That would piss me off too, I am a collector and not a re seller, so you can send me your redlines and I promise I won't resell them ;)
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
Some people are not collectors... they just trying to make an extra buck I guess. Like you, I get very frustrated seeing a nice car sold, then for sale for 3x the price one week later!
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
I have grown my collection substantially since I have joined this site, the guys here are great and usually so are the prices. I would hope that that would stay the same and that the ones trying to cash in on your generosity, won't ruin it for the rest of us.

I think I know who this is directed at...that being said, once I sell something on b/s/t, I understand fully that it's a final sale, and beyond my control afterwards.
When I sell on b/s/t, I really don't care what happens to the cars once they are paid for. HOWEVER, when someone sweet talks you out of a car because they "need it" for either their bow, or their personal collection, then soon afterwards you see someone else owns it and paid more $$$ to acquire it, then that's a different story.
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
There are many places I scan for items for sale to nab and re-sell. Not here though.
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
Hey Scott, I've still got the blue Open Fire you sold me and you definitely wont see it on ebay or any where else for that matter for sale. I would never forgive myself if I did.

Re: Kind of wondering why!!
Yep....beware the people who tell you that they "really need it for their collection". Way too many times I've seen those items flipped for profit soon after. Many times, it's done by members you wouldn't expect it from too. Just another reminder to be aware and to make sure you get what you are comfortable with when making a sale. If you give a deal to help someone out from the goodness of your heart, be sure that you know the person well, otherwise you may be left with that empty feeling when you see that car flipped for profit.
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
If I buy something here or anywhere, it is mine and I can do with it what I want. If I wanna sell it, I sell it. The person who sold it to me has absolutely no right to say anything because I paid the price and took ownership of the item.
I have, however, made deals with certain high end collectors/sellers that if I ever go to sell the items I bought from them, I would give them the first chance to buy it back. This has happened more than just a few times.
I know some members here who do the flipping thing and have pissed off certain selling members because he talked them out of selling a redline to someone else for more money to sell it to him. Then he put it up for sale real soon on the bst and sold it for more money than his 'buddy' sold it to him for.
Kinda made me chuckle when I heard about all the drama surrounding the selling of those redlines.
