New Addition To The Arsenal
Went down to the gun store today and picked up this S&W 357 Mag w/7 round chamber. The gun store on saturday morning is amazingly packed, lots of people buying weapons. I opted for another revolver over the 9mm, dont like the safety and the fact that sometimes they jam, Can't wait to fire it!!

Sweet pick up, I'm looking for something new myself. I'm kinda leaning toward another 9mm though.

Very nice Mark,
I was looking at that model too, maybe I can trade this up for a S&W revolver as the easy maintenance is a big plus.

Hey Jeff,
Check out the CZ-P01. It has an aluminum frame, I highly recommend it.

Just read some reviews on the CZ and it looks like a real good gun. Priced better than a lot out there also. I'm definitely interested and will do more research. Thanks for the tip Joe.

Hey Joe, after careful consideration and a little nudge from mama we ended up getting the Ruger P 95. Very easy for women to shoot as its more for her anyway. I may still pick up the CZ for myself down the road as I really like what I have read about it. Thanks.

Re: New Addition To The Arsenal
I have a 1st gen P85 that I bought NIB in '87 when they were first released. It's had very few modifications over the past 14 years(Pachmayer grips,MK II saftey, beveled ejection port, polished feed ramp) and it's still a great gun. I've got over 10,000 rounds on the original springs. Being a "pre-ban" pistol it came with a pair of 15 rd. mags, and I bought 3 mags from a company called "Ram-Line" that hold 18 rds. When I sent it back to Ruger for the MK II safety upgrade, they gave me another 15 rd. mag, so with all mags loaded and 1 in the pipe, I've got 100 rounds RTR. This pistols is my EDC and I couldn't ask for a better one. You'll be totally satisfied with it's performance.
BTW... This gun had about a dozen +/- FTF's in the first 200 rounds, that's why the polished feed ramp. The beveled ejection port was simply so it would throw brass more consistantly. I think they bevel the ports on all the P series now.
Jeff!
Re: New Addition To The Arsenal
Congrats Jeff! Yes, polished feed ramps are almost a given on most of the newer semi's. Depening on the weapon, some other mods may be needed. I usually just use right out of the box for a minimum of 1000 rounds before considering any alterations.
