I have to get back to the year 1985....The FINAL Back To The Future custom!
Ladies and gentlemen, I have been working on the final Back To The Future custom set to debut at the local Hot Wheels Show. This final set will be the most complicated, most detailed, and most time consuming yet! The scene FOR NOW is the iconic 1955 street scene when the lightning hits the clock tower. I am currently in the stage of finding all the parts to do it. As well as the 1940s-1950s cars. Since Mattel has been following me (I'll talk about this in a moment), I will put my blood, sweat, and tears into the scene and other cars, not so much the DeLorean itself. If this idea does not work out, then my back up plan is to go with the 1985 scene when Marty escapes from the Libyans, featuring an RLC Beach Bomb Too, and a truck of some kind.
As a strange coincidence, I ended up doing BTTF III first. In 2009 an unfinished BTTF III was shown and finally presented in finished form for the 2010 show. The time machine was the old Turismo, a modified DeLorean. Soon after this car was shown completed in 2010, Mattel released the standard '81 DeLorean DMC 12.

Last year, I began building the scene where Marty finally retrieves the Almanac in Back To The Future II. The very day before this set made it's debut, the Hot Wheels Back To The Future Delorean hit the pegs at our local K-Mart on K-Days. I had also built a Toy Story custom scene this year, which got some attention. Either it was really good or it was the fact I drilled a Steering Rigs, LOL!

So you see, they must either be tampering in the space time continuum and causing a mess, or its just an amazing coincidence.
Here is where I'm at now...with the current cars to be used in the scene, I'm still needing some more, including a Studebaker Hawk. The clock tower was found on eBay and I am currently in the bidding. I WILL NOT LOSE, I MUST SUCCEED! I'll browse around Hobby Lobby for some HO scale train accessories for the light poles and such. I'm debating either buying all the buildings ($$$) or just painting up some wood (Hollywood does it). The effects for the lightning will be created using battery powered LED lights. The only real work on the DeLorean will be a wheel swap and some minor details as well as adding the hook. I'll be putting a lot of time into the scene itself since so much of the Time Machine is already done.

THE COURT HOUSE IS ON ITS WAY AND IT WAS A DEAL! I'm working on the electrical stuff now. I've also found another 3-way intersection, so now I'm only needing straight pieces of track.
I've also located a bunch of street lights that match the movie exactly.
