Winter Days in Snow land in Japan
Hi All, I'm living in Tokyo and I had staying snow land north of Tokyo on Dec.2011-Jan. 2012.
Winter days in Japan, north land have heavy snow and south land have not so cold.
My own car is a SUBARU Legacy wagon,the car has all wheels drive system.
On 31th Dec.2011 I went to Mt.Akagi ,Its about 60 miles north of Tokyo and have some lakes.

1st photo takes at north of Mt.Akagi road.

Every autumn I used this road was closed.

This lake named "Kakuman-Buchi" was frozen.

Beside of "Kakuman-Buchi" lake ,the other lake is bigger than it called "Oh-numa".
"Oh-numa" lake was not all frozen.
Next day,1st Jan.2012 I went to Mt.Akagi again.
In Japan, Traditional event "Hatsuhi no de" it's a seeing for New Year's 1st rising Sun.

Unfortunately there were cloudy.
Then I went to Akagi Shrine,It's another new year's event named "Hatsu Moude".

I made a wish about Safe and happy year.
Then I had very Fun time,It's SNOW Driving!

Very beautiful pics Hiro. Now you need to wait for that lake to fully freeze over and go do some Ice Fishing lol.
