I bought it too, I think the first song sucks, tattoo, after that's is not bad, 3 or 4 songs just rock like their first releases with diamond Dave,
Did you buy the limited with the short DVD? It black and white unplugged , just two songs , but it's very good.
I would say OK at best.
I saw the Tattoo video and that convinced myself to not even bother with that CD...
"Know when to say when".
What I noticed on Tattoo is that Roth didn't hit his trademark high note/scream, not once. Trademark! Where is it? Passsssssssssssss....
As big of a fan of Van Halen, and I don't really even consider the band with Sammy Hagar Van Halen. Not that I don't like Sammy, he is AWESOME solo. I saw Van Halen when they came back out with Diamond Dave a few years back. They really were good., but I've heard the a few of the new tunes and I'm thinking mediocre at best. I'll just have to live with 1984 back, which really doesn't bother me.
Saw Van Halen when they toured Dallas many years ago.......latest video I saw looked like David Lee Roth just came out off a coma and Valerie sure aged more graciously than Eddie.
Gary
Me thinks that Roth looks like Carson on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"!!!!!!!!
hmmmmmmmmmmmm....
Just dropped by after not being here for awhile.....Couldn't resist to comment on the new VH CD....
Always been a VH and DLR fan so I was looking forward to the new CD. After playing thru it about 4
or 5 times now I think I can give an opinion. If you expected anything like the 1st couple of albums you
will be disappointed. Eddie can still play but he can't save the the songs which didn't make the cut
the 1st time and it shows. When Stay Frosty is one of the better tunes you know the rest of the tunes are
weak to say the least. The CD is a bunch of leftover tracks thrown together so when you listen to the CD
there is no flow or feel to it. A few good tunes a bunch of ok tunes and 3 bad ones so you have a ok CD.
There were a couple tunes where Dave just sounds really bad and can't pull it off anymore. If you are a VH
fan you can appreciate the CD and enjoy it.
If you want the real VH play the 1st CD/Album - THAT IS VAN HALEN!!!
L8er,
DON
BTW: I thought the Metallica Beyond Magnetic - Ep Kicked ASS!
In my opinion Metallica is poo after And Justice For All.
Scott you know characters from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy ?...........LOL

Early Metallica and early VH all the way, although Death Magnetic I thought was a valiant effort for Metallica, haven't heard Beyond Magnetic...
Dave, don't pretend that you don't know the characters from Queer Eye!!!!!! HA!!!!!!!!!
