Museum Exhibit of Titanic proportions
If anyone going to Dearborn might be interested, The Henry Ford Museum is hosting a new exhibit called, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. This is in remembrance to the 100th anniversary of the sinking, which if I am not mistaken, is April 15th. There is supposed to be extensive room recreations, artifacts, a full scale replica of the Grand Staircase, and much info about the passengers and crew, and the construction of the ship. The visitors to the exhibit also get a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger. Not only does this sound interesting, but the Henry Ford Museum is quite the spectacle in itself, with plenty of vintage cars, trains, carriages, and you name it to see. I highly recommend a visit if you have never been there. You will not be disappointed. Darlene (smallshot) and have plans to spend a day at the museum prior to the Nationals starting.

Re: Museum Exhibit of Titanic proportions
I'd love to hit the Henry Ford Museum, but I have seen the Titantic Exhibit in Baltimore and in Harrisburg. I just want to see the cars.
Re: Museum Exhibit of Titanic proportions
We'll probably hit this up one of the days. It's only a couple miles from the Hotel.
Re: Museum Exhibit of Titanic proportions
[B]Have been to The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village twice, in '71, and '77, and was quite the spectacle back then. I can only imagine how much better it is today, and is on my list of places i want to either attend for the first time, or go back to again, before i check out of this Earth........

We were just there last year, and it's always great visit. The vast array of cars..not just Fords, the Allegehny Locomotive (sp?), the Presidential cars, the Weinermobile, The Ag display, A FULL generator from the old Ford Highland plant (Very cool).
Expect to spend the good part of the day at the Museum alone.
