My Adventures in South Korea
As some of you know, I'm stationed in South Korea for the next year. I've been here about two weeks now and I'd say I'm finally settled in. I did some bus travel this weekend to downtown Gunsan City and came across a 3-story store called Lotte Mart. It's a cross between a Target and Wal-Mart I'd say. They had some diecast on the second floor so I thought I'd share some pics.

The Tomica case

This was the only one I bought - #31 Nissan Diesel Quon

Hot Wheels selection was slim. Their 1,900W each (about $1.80)

Some Academy 1/24 scale plastic model kits. Again selection was slim but they had lots of airplanes and battleships.

Academy BMW 635CSL

Tons of 1/43 scale cars and trucks to be had at around 2,900W each

That's all for now. I'll add more as I discover new things!

Thanks for the pics. The electric garage on the right is cool.I have actually pondered buying that one after seeing
it in action on youtube.Great pics, it is cool to see the way other countries display their toy sections.
After seeing these now I need a Tomica display case.
Re: My Adventures in South Korea
Very cool. There is alot of those Tomica's I like! mostly old ones though. Awesome way they display there boxed product, you can see the real thing, instead of just the picture on the box.
Enjoy the adventure of the new country buddy, and stay safe!

Cool pics. I was at Osan for three weeks on business back in 1988 for an exercise I don't believe they conduct anymore given relations with the North. Many changes overall there since then, but you will get great deals on so many items over there. Looking forward to more pics. Take care.
