was talking to my friend today and he said he was just looking at his dads new race car
he thought since i was a chevy geek i should drop by and check it out
all i can say is holy crap
one of the most amazing cars i have ever seen
everything about this car is just spot on perfect
and it runs low 9's

Is it as fast as the super cobra race car
If that car runs under 10s, it is not street legal without a rollcage in most of the US but maybe is legal in Canada where it was manufactured. I am assuming this is just for racing right? My Dad had a yellow COPO Camaro back in the day, it was a firebreathing beast
they are faster than the cobra jet race cars
the 427 n/a cars have run 9.30's in testing in stock tune
the 327 supercharger cars have gone as fast as 8'60's in stock tune

these cars are not street legal they dont even have vin numbers
but they do have a full cage in them,they are actually assembled in wixom mich
Any idea where that is made it in Wixom? I go by there a lot and would love to take a drive by the place that makes those.
Also FYI Dodge makes a similar Drag Pack Challenger that is made completely race ready and non-street legal as well. It goes for about 150,000 so I imagine that Camaro is up there too. Besides the fact it is parked next to a private plane from the looks of it lol.

Randy: WOW. Really high end. Scary fast. Thanks for sharing. A co-worker modified a new (2011) Camaro up to 725 horse and he has had it up to 180 on the highway and wants to take it to 200. Pure craziness.

So none of these new COPO Camaros are street legal? I like the idea of the returned 1LE option myself.

That's sounds all cool AJ but 180mph on the highway, that is major uncool. I was young and stupid like that also but since realized that a quick rush is not worth accidently killing someone. That's what the trooper on the Ontario State Parkway instilled in me when I was pulled over for doing 170+ in my highly modified 600+hp Firebird Formula back in 1999. I tried to justify it but saying the road was clear for miles... he did not buy it and I nearly lost my license for a very longtime over it and spent some time in jail for it. The Judge presiding over my case made me watch crash videos and they were not edited at all. He also told me the cost to have emergency vehicles, Lifestar (if needed) and various other things that I was not thinking about with my foot on the floor
Just sharing a very personal view, the highways are not dragstrips and anybody who does this stuff needs to really think about what they are doing before something lifechanging happens... like getting sued for everything you own or being responsible for the deaths others
