Mudbug

That is such a cool effect !!!<br><br>Definitely has the appearance of sprayed mud ( whether that was what you were after or not !!! )<br><br>Mind sharing how you created that effect ? - While not for restoring cars, I could really take<br>advantage of that effect for other applications .... like on my model railroad.<br><br>Mark.

Thanks Mark, actually I was just trying to do a spectra-fade. I painted the car spectraflame green, let that dry, then using spectraflame red, started behindthe car &amp; just sprayed from side to side a couple times kind of up above the car a little bit. Then clear coated. The red turned out more of a brown makingit look more like mud. The look was what I was after, just not the color, but I'm okay with it. That's interesting as the "spray" looked to be too coarse to be just overspray !!!<br>Any time I've attempted a color blend with my airbrush, the point of color blend<br>was a very fine mist - yours doesn't have that real fine mist appearance !?! I was<br>just curious how you got the more defined look of the particles in the overspray.<br><br>Mark.

<p>It's because it isn't airbrush on this one, it's can. I'm using Krylon X Metals paint. When I say spectraflame on this one, this is not anenamel but more like a stain (like spectraflame) for lack of a better term. You can see the casting throught the paint. This stuff will do an overchrome nicelyif it's applied right. That's why it's more coarse, especially because the red is getting low in the can too, Mike</p>

You know Mark, you're exactly right. But they do tend to have that less mist effect so you kind of have a slight idea of what maybe to expect. The colorcombination of red &amp; green threw me though. Mike

That's pretty cool, I can get my Badger to do that...open it up all the way, &amp; thin the paint as less as possible...nice &amp; thick, it will spit justlike a spray can running out, it makes a cool blood splatter.<br><br><br>S~

<strong>Mark if your trying for an effect like that, try put the color you want on a toothbrush then flick it off onto your project.</strong>

Hey Zack - Yeah, I HAVE done that and it works pretty well too. I just figured if I could<br>get that effect to burp outa my airbrush, it would be a lot less messy and maybe a bit<br>more controlled.<br><br>Mark.
