CHRISTMAS CONTEST (LAST DAY TODAY!)
I've been given approval by Frank and Chris to do this contest which I know is going to be a lot of fun. This is a Christmas contest and like I was always taught as a child, "it's better to give than to receive", so if you would like a chance at RECEIVING a very nice redline prize, you are going to have to GIVE. Here's the deal: After seeing the toys RLJ bought this past weekend at his local car show to donate to Toys 4 Tots for Christmas I thought how awesome it would be if we could all do the same thing. Anyone who would like to participate in this contest simply has to donate a toy (or toys) to Toys 4 Tots (or any other Christmas toy charity in your area). You must buy a new, unopened toy and take it to your nearest Toys 4 Tots drop off box and take a picture of the new toy and post it here. If you can post a picture of the toy actually being dropped off that would be even better but I will take you for your word that if you post a picture of a new, unopened toy here, that it will be going to Toys 4 Tots and I will enter your name to win a very nice redline from my collection. The draw will be held on December 24th (Christmas Eve) and the winner will be announced that day. SO, here are the rules:

1.) You may donate as many toys as you want but your name will only be entered into the drawing one time.

2.) The toy must be brand new (not used) and unopened and unwrapped (toys 4 tots only accepts unwrapped toys). To be clear on this, you must buy a brand new toy to qualify for this contest. You can't donate a toy or toys that you had in your closet from wheneverago. It's like playing the lottery, this $10 toy is your entry into the contest. If you pull something out of your closet it's not fair to those who went out and spent their ten dollars to enter. Yes, I know you can argue that at one point money was spent on that toy but as with a lottery, if you buy a ticket one week and it doesn't win, you can't go back the following week and ask for another ticket and say that you paid the money on the losing ticket the week before. You need to pay for THAT drawing at THAT time. Oh I really hope I'm making sense cuz this has turned into a bit of a ramble (I'm good at doing that. My apologies. ). So in a nutshell, if you want to participate in this contest you need to go out and spend $10 on a toy. Good luck to everyone. I wish I had a prize for all of you because you're all so wonderful for donating all these toys. I know the kids who receive them will be ever so thankful.

3.) To keep it fair to everyone who is participating, the value of the toy must be a minum of $10.00.

4.) The deadline for posting the picture of your toy(s) here is December 23rd at midnight so you have just over a month to get your toy bought and posted here but please don't leave buying it and dropping it off until the 23rd because parents will need time to get the toys for their kids and the 23rd is really cutting it close.

5.) All pictures must be posted on THIS THREAD ONLY to qualify for the draw!

And lastly, this isn't really a RULE because I'm not going to tell you what you can and can't donate but please remember that just because this is a hot wheels site and just because we absolutely LOVE these little toy cars, that not all kids want hot wheels for Christmas so please keep that in mind when picking out a toy (or toys) to donate.

Update on the prize! Some members have offered to add additional items to the prize pool so one very lucky person is going to win EVERYTHING!!! I will video it like I did with the Dream Car contest and post it here to show it's legit. So good luck to everyone participating and thank you so much for helping out underprivelidged kids this Christmas.

~Karen
