Tim, That KISS car is too cool. And tahnks for the link Jimmy. I finally got my J Tubes for the engine. I did my test fit and then went to get my camera.....damn, I forgot my camera. So tomorrow I will post pics then. I attached the flanges and then fit the tubes to the engine and tack welded the flanges to thetubes. In case your wondering, the j-tubes replace the heater boxes.<br><br>Laters, Steve

However, as a body man do you feel that a properly appliedmodern paint job shouldn't require that much detail work afterwards? I've seen the paint on your car and the smoothness you have achieved seems tocome from the amount of prep work you put in <em><u>before</u></em> the color is applied, correct? <p>I recieved the new j-tubes from Zarwerks last week and I fit them and welded the flanges on them. Sanded them smooth and painted them with heat paint. I got off my butt and did some assembly on the engine. I made another sheet metal purchase for my bug. I'm not sure I will install it when I get it ready, but I always thought it was better looking than theoriginal. It is another deck lid (engine cover), it is for a '52 to '57 Beetle. It is called a "W" lid. Once you see the pics, you will seewhy it is called that. Anyhoo, I got a great deal on it because it is "slightly" damaged. Let me know what you all think of it.. I took some beforeand after/during pics.<br><br>Before.....? I wish the carburetor on my 1988 Honda Accord LX was that simple. It's got so many vacuum hoses running to it, it looks like someone dropped in to bowl oflarge black spaghetti.
