How sad. This thread started out with some people hating gays and now we're starting to hate each other. We've all had our say, I think it's time for this thread to be closed.

~Karen

Wow....
Sure is a lot of HATE on this thread! I am very surprised to see what some people are saying...
I wonder if something happended in someones childhood...or something that they tried once (Greg...what is the percentage of men that have TRIED something with another man at least once in their childhood)....to have so much HATE rot inside...

The lady (not you Anita) doth protest too much, methinks.

- Hamlet

usafa83,
Who exactly are you referring to?
Is it me, since the quote you chose from Anita has my name in it?
Your implication is that whomever you're referring to is gay because they
protest too much.

-Greg

I was kind of restating some of what Anita was aluding to. That some of the simmering hatred folks have for one thing or another is often a result of someinternal conflict, hence the famous Hamlet quote. Has nothing to do with you Greg. I enjoy reading your posts.

Thanks very much for clearing that up.

Karen, there's been some good discussion in spite of all the hard feelings. Brushing aside differences all the time just isn't a healthy way to keep acommunity intact, or any relationship for that matter. It's one thing to voice an opinion but through votes such as California's, opinion progressed toaction. And in this case, unjustifiable action based on fear, religion, whatever. The Supreme Court put a halt to it, and rightfully so.

There have been so many fear-related weak arguments against homosexuality stated here that I froze up and have been too overwhelmed to respond. I'd like tothank Greg and Greg and Dave and Kitty and others for being able to respond.

This concept of gay marriage bringing down society feels so blatantly untrue that I'm amazed anyone actually believes it, and again, I just don't knowhow to respond. I've watched my kids grow up with Asians and blacks and see how well they get along compared to my generation at that age. I watch my kidsgrow up amongst gay parents and their kids and again, see how well they get along. How can such diversity, and such accepted diversity, be bringing downsociety? Kids are far more accepting of others than many here seem to give them credit for. And it's a lasting acceptance. Two gay guys living next door?Just tell your kids that they love each other and leave it at that. And leave the derision out of your voice.

Lots more I could say but I'll stop for now...

Jeff

Settle down. It's still an interesting topic, and if you don't help to educate some viewpoints, and now want to throw in the towel, your giving up.Keep it cool, respectful, even if you don't agree. How else do you effect change?

Why in the world, would anyone hate on Raed? If a person grew up being told that Ice Cream KILLS you, then that person might actually believe that Ice CreamKILLS you. Just maybe you start using some of your own tolerence, as you preach it to others. If you will not give any, how can you expect any back in return?
