Here's the latest update !!!! My '59 Beetle interior is ORDERED !! I ordered it last night from Wolfsberg West in California. It is being custommade just for my bug. New carpet (custom made with heat delete), floor mats for the early '55-'57, tunnel mat, door and 1/4 panel trim custom made withash tray delete, seat covers (brick red with white piping, just like original with sewn seams) rear carpet padding, new interior stainless, new seat pads...and other small misc parts. I am JACKED !! All I'm lacking in parts is Bumpers and Hubcaps and.... seatbelts. My speedometer is in Corona CA gettingrebuilt, so I should be getting it back soon. Here are some pics of what I've been up to yesterday and today.

I made patterns for the panels under the rear seat bar:

This is where they go:

1/4 inch plywood cut and trimmed to fit:

I plan on getting them covered in vinyl by the trim shop that did my headliner.

Enjoy everyone, Steve

I could have bought these panels, but they come with holes for the heat to come through. Well I don't need no stinkin' heat so I decided to make myown.

They are called snowflake lights. they do resemble LED's, that's the cool part about them. The lenses are actually glass on the outside with aplastic diffuser (tinted black/red)on the inside. Everyone will be seeing some cool changes coming within the next couple of weeks. I got an old cooler from aswap meet over the weekend. It isn't brand specific, but it is red. My plans are to restore it in Pepsi blue and use it when we go to car shows. It will beas nice as the Bug.

Steve

so rolling back the speedo now the favorite trick of used car salesmen , some places that's illegal LOL

Still the best thread ever.
Love the cooler idea. I went to a car show here in Seattle back in June and there were a couple amazing bugs and buses that had restored luggage and coolers togo with the cars. Very nice touch.
