Actually Dave, our troops are fighting Taliban in Afghanistan, alongside several other countries including the US. We've not had near the number ofcasualties as the US, but the 70 some odd we've lost isn't a small price either. As a matter of fact, the only elected official in Afghanistan isKharzai, and all the others are sham bogus thouroughly corrupt to the bone some of which are connected to the Taliban. This government is supported with overone billion no strings attached, unaccountable US$$$dollars$$$ part of which have been used to kill Canadian troops. Our government, and especially the currentright wing clinging by a hair underhanded dictaTORYal secretive which I so love to bash, I will say one thing for, I'm fully behind them and theirAfghanistan policy. We are fighting the good fight there. We didn't support an illegal action by the US when you went into Iraq and got called all sorts ofvile insults by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchannan, Ann Coulter, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly,......etc. WTF is with those people. Is this theface of America? These people spout off all this feculent spew without end. Who's that a$$ Pat Robertson? I've explained, among others too, what theproblem is! I'd like Sverrefan to please enlighten me once more. Please tell me why you don't think a more equal distribution of wealth is good! Andlet me say one more thing, let's all, me too, not get bentoutta shapehere boys! Hey! 4 or 5 of you, one of me, odds in my favour BatMan!!! Enlighten me Sverredude! Andy

If anyone, Rob should be the one to say something, or maybe Chris or TCS would put thebootheelto it! Let's not let animosities takeover here. Hot Hot!! HOT! We're waitin' on Raed with the goods in U.A.E......that's there though. That's not here. Different world!Andy

Oh Ya! Dave! I was gonna explain the word 'tool' in the context it was meant. In this instance, the use of the word tool indicates that the subject isthat of a monkey in the middle kinda thing. Really, did any of you? No really!

Really? Well, in this country he was voted in, by a majority, as President twice, so you can dislike him and his policies, but to say you don'trecognize him as the President of the US and leader of this country is some sort of weird denial because he is, in fact, President of the US, like it ornot.

In Canada we have 3 main political partys. Left/New Democratic Party, Center/The Liberal Party of Canada, and on the right, The Conservative Party of Canada(formerly the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.....................progressive conservative, huh? That's a trueidiosyncracy,...............yin-yang if you will. The Yin-Yang Party of Canada. And just loaded with Christians, rowdy right minded ones. After all, I heardthe highest official of The Anglican Church of Canada explain to us on TV that the primary function of the Church is the "Study of Yin-Yang", whichwould be fitting for such a mixed up bunch). Anyhow, I liken the 3 Partys here to The 3 Stooges. Curly/Left winger, Larry/moderate centrist and most sensibleof the 3, and finally, yes, Moe could be none other that the right wing. Yes, Moe is dominated by the right brain thing, always bullyin' people around, oris that the left brain, because one side of your brain controls the other side of your body. I guess righties are actually leftys trying to overcompensate. Nowif they are Leftys, that would make them a bunch of little girls, and in actual fact Liberals are the real rightys, and is in fact, the Man. Light/Library,Liberal, Liberty, and so on. I figure if your an 'uptight Christian righty', you don't have Liberty, you've a yoke around your neck, a yoke ofa religeon, after all, aren't you being sheppherded therein. And those right wing media types I mentioned earlier, most of whom claim to be Christians, have a yoke of hatred and anger around their necks. I ain't bashin' Christians. I know some very good ones. Raed, I understand that your not living in the US currently, you don't see in the news every day of all the murders, rapes, and child molestations like wedo. It is said that as of right now, approximately 1% of Americans are in prison. That's one out of 100 and in some neighbourhoods, it's a lot morethan one out of every 100. Our prisons are seriously overcrowded and they can not be built fast enough to keep up with demand. Like Chris pointed out, it'san easy living for some people. They get far more comforts in prison than some get on the street. The man in question - the original topic of this thread - wasconvicted of murdering his girlfriend (he's also married) who was carrying HIS child.

I do agree with you in regards to our president. I have said other times that he should be charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchannan, Ann Coulter, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly,......etc. WTF is with those people. Is this the face of America?

None of them are the face of America. They are the faces of the radical reich. They are examples of the reason so many people are pushing further left now -it's an attempt to balance things better. Also consider that they are all paid pundits. They are paid by people of similar or same beliefs who can pull thestrings to their rich little hearts' content. Not one of them represent the average American any more than Mann Coulter represents women.

Damn. They fixed something on Google and in the process half the searches now point to porn sites, and that's searching for totally innocuous things. Abouta month ago, you could do a search on the "C-word" and Ann Coulter's name would pop up at least twice on the first page alone, even above theslang dictionary entries.

any way, if you want to kill all murderers , then G Bush will be first in line with Usama bin laden for killing so many Innocent Iraqis, and young US solders
Raed, if that's the case, then Bill Clinton needs to be on that list too.

Andy, no, Rush, Bill and the like are not the face of America. They're just a loud and obnoxious faction. The idiots always always bellow the loudest andpush their way to the forefront.
As for the more equal distribution of wealth, I never said it was a bad idea, I said it didn't work in practice. Tell me, how do you accomplish this moreequal distribution?
To add something to what Kitty said about our prisons---I read or heard recently that 5 of our 50 states spend more money on prisons and such than they send onschools and education. Seems like that number will be going up---ToM/NOLa
