First, hats off to the Magic. They played with real heart and soul and determination, and it was an excellent Championship Series - one of the mostentertaining in many years! So thanks, guys, you gave us a good show, and a good run for the money!

Second, if you look back in this thread, you'll find that I predicted this series EXACTLY - first 2 for the Lakers at home, first home game for the Magic, then Lakers all the way in 5 games. Do I win something? Anybody gonna' say "wow, Greg, you sure are smart" or anything?? Oh well...

Third, are any of the Kobe naysayers still naysaying? Sure, he was intense during the series - that's what ya gotta do to win - but he was the perfectgentleman in victory, and acting like a kid in his first visit to the candy store.

And so it was for ALL the Lakers... every single one had their contribution and also played with heart and soul, and were (with only a couple of exceptions)perfect sportsmen, both in victory and defeat. I feel very proud, indeed, of my team this morning!

As for the mini-riots... I hope everyone watching the news realized that you were looking at maybe 1,000 people, tops. They do not in any way representAngelenos as a whole. Please don't judge us by the actions of those few...

Kobe solidifying his place among the elite of all time.

Next, I'm still laughing about Dave placing Ming in his top 5 centers of all time.

Lastly, just listened to an interview with one of the Suns coaches. He wouldn't say for sure, because he's not allowed to, but there is another team in the mix for Shaq. It may not be an automatic that he's going to Cleveland. The first arguement to that was that the Suns don't want Wallace's contract.

Mike
HWsMinis

Wow...... No one wants one of of Mike's top-5?? Go figure!!!! AHAHHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!!

Greg, the Suns owner is in real $ trouble, and Wallace contract is exactly what he would like. It expires soon, and thus he can get out from underit-especially if Wallace just retires. Shaq was close to going there last year as well, and trust me the Cavs are going to try hard and keep Lebron in town. That means they're willing to overpay a 37, soon to be 38 year old center to help Lebron out.

Think LeBron will stay if they get Shaq?
-
I don't see what there is in the NY markets that would be any better, if does jump there. Having Shaq to help might just get the Cavs some more time withthe King. Shaq will get a 2 year ext, Lebron would sign halfway throught that, it might just by the Cavs a few more years to get a shot at the title.

Dave - I don't recall anybody asking you for your top 5...but that didn't stop you from giving it, and looking the fool...like always. LOL. I'mdone with that...too easy of pickins.

Chris, you said that Wallace's contract is what the Suns want? Why? During this last year, the Suns were in deed looking to trade Shaq and get a contractthat would expire at the end of this year (2008/2009 season)...not next year. Shaq's contract expires at the end of the 2009/2010 season, so why trade himfor Wallace whose contract expires at the same time? The Suns will put more butts in the seats and sell more Jerseys with Shaq, than they will Wallace. Thedidn't want that specific trade last year (they wanted Szcerbiak, becuase his $13Million contract ended this year), in the middle of the year, so Ican't see why they would want it this off season when it doesn't really help them financially.

Mike

No one asked you for your top five, or top fifty either, but that's why it's a "discussion board" Mike, not everyone agrees, but I won'thold your ignorance against ya bud!!!! Do some more of that "financial homework" and get back, you sure don't have the knowledge in the NBAtalent pool!!! GOOOOO YAO!!!!!!!!!
-
Mike, the rumors are Wallace is thinking about retiring. Say you trade, you give him 5 mil to walk and get out of Shaq's inflated contract, saving what 10mil, 15 mil? It's not about players for the Suns, it's about money only.
-
Chris,

Got it. Thanks. Hadn't heard the rumor about Wallace. Would indeed make sense for the Suns to do that trade then, though I can't imagine Wallaceleaving $14M behind.

Dave,

Ignorant? Funny stuff coming from you. At least I don't have Ming in my top 5. That's all the "smack talk" I need from you.....

Mike
HWsMinis

No "smack" just FACT brotha'!!!!
