Rob's job is dependant on crime! Take away the crime, and you take away employment Rob and others like him (and some day, Justin) will never be out of work. If it was legal and free to grow, the price would bottom out. When you guys got nailed on 9/11, our country was shocked, and at the request of the US government, we so happily and gladly opened our airspace andairports to dozens or 100s of unscheduled aircraft from your country and others for a safe place to land. When you do take a break for that fresh air, after you get back, read up on NORAD.Hint: they serve both the US and Canada. Our respective countries' security is tied together very tightly when it comes to airspace. Onceit was determined that it was a terrorist act, NORAD took over, directing the planes to land at the nearest airport. I have a simple solution for you, Andy: Shoot your TV. Do it; do it soon, please. Go all Elvis on it. Er, wait. You don't believe in guns. I'm sure youcan find a suitable rock or stick. For the sake of what sanity remains, kill your television. Oh, and Star Trek was, is, and always shall be, a sciencefiction/fantasy television series. Joel: Hopefully you're still reading this because this part is for you. I agree with a number of your points but about halfway through your previous postcame disagreement. It's nice, though, that neither of us are foaming at the mouth at each other over some of the issues. Pretty sweet, huh?

Clinton's military record was far from stellar. I was in the military during Clinton's termsand they were doing everything to get people out. Early retirement, early IRR, anything and everything. I was in the reserves for 4 years. Ionly went to two "summer camps." After 4 years, I took a teaching job. "Oh, it's over 50 miles to the nearest unit that needs an 88M? Okay. You can go into Inactive Ready Reserves. No problem. Just find a unit to go withfor your two weeks a year and all is good." Um. Yeah. Never bothered. Shortly after April 20, 1998 (end of my 8-year stint) I receive my military records file in the mail. "Honorary Discharge." Good by me. Meanwhile, there were military bases in Africa being bombed, the USS Cole, the first attempt at the WTC...all forewarnings that bad peoplewere trying to do bad things. Clinton did nothing. Except give "Most Favored Nation" status to China and doink an intern. Woot. It's all good...look at the economy! An economy that was booming on the "baseball card and bubble gum" stock market propped by the techboom of Silicone Valley. Oh, yes, I forgot. Al Gore invented the Internet! So the Clinton administration was responsible for the economic boom afterall. Oh...um...what happened to all those tech stocks? Right. Can we blame Gore for that, then, since he takes credit for the Internet? Clinton rode a wave that had nothing to do with anything he did. Allan Greenspan had more to do with the economy than did Clinton. And Greenspan wasn'teven a Clinton appointee. He was there when Clinton took office. If you ever watch(ed) South Park, there's an episode where Johnny Cochoran uses the "Chewbacca Defense." ["Now Chewbacca is a Wookee. But helives with Ewoks. Why would a Wookee live with Ewoks? It doesn't make sense. If it doesn't make sense, you must acquit. Look at the monkey."] All those who idolize Clinton and the "wonderful economy" are, in essence, "looking at the monkey" and ignoring everything else ofsubstance that was going on around the world that the US was doinking with as if the world was its intern. I will also reiterate that THE US HAD EVERY LEGAL REASON TO GO BACK INTO IRAQ. The cease-fire was contingent on Iraq letting UNinvestigators oversee the dismantling of the WMD program. Saddam blocked that. (Clinton did nothing.) Saddam kept boasting about how he had WMD, etc. Yes, weknow now that this was probably to keep Iran from walking in and taking over the country. But Saddam also refused "civil mediation" to prevent thecurrent invasion. As much as France hated to admit it, under the conditions of the cease-fire, the US had the right to resume hostilities. Going back to my policeman allegory, a policeman can stop you for "probable cause" and arrest you for something totally different. Let's say youwere speeding. You get pulled over and there's a smoking gun lying on your passenger seat. He can arrest you for gun possession and ignore the speedingviolation altogether. The US had "international probable cause" based on Saddam's refusal to cooperate with UN oversight on WMD. 9/11 exacerbatedthe situation (the gun on the seat, so-to-speak). There's a reason the terrorist factions there are called "Al Quaida in Iraq." It's because they are members of Al Quaida operating in Iraq.And Saddam's regime funded them. Smoking gun lying on the passenger seat. The initial premise was valid and the UN had to accept it. The premiseturned out to be wrong, but another clear and present danger loomed. And that's why we are still there. Any candidate who says we'll be out of Iraq in X days is lying just as Nixon lied about having a secret plan to get out of Vietnam. I would rather have acandidate be honest and say "I see no quick and easy way to get our troops out of Iraq." It's a bloody, violent culture. The tribes have warredfor years. It would be as if America were run by the various mafia families. We are in the middle east. We will be in the middle east. So much for not foaming at the mouth, Joel. All I said was, simply, that I disagreed with something and you go off with guns blazing as if I'd just pissedon your favourite pair of shoes. You didn't even know exactly what I disagreed with, yet you went off on a lengthy tirade about President Clinton. Youasked a quick question and assumed the answer. If you behave behind the wheel of your rig in the same manner, I feel for people sharing the same roads as thoseyou drive, as you are a potentially very dangerous case of road rage waiting to happen.

Difference between trucks and guns is, wederive GREAT benefit from having trucks, guns don't carry goods for delivery (not in the way I'm talking). Any. law abiding, gun owning citizen cancrack and easily, speedily, and stealthily, with their gun, kill! They complain about all the gang banger killings in Toronto with the guns, but no-onecomplains about Joe Paycheck pullin' the legal gun outta the closet and blowin' the wife away. Or at least it doesn't seem to get the publicsattention like a gang banger drive-by. Andy, yes anyone can lose it, but they could lose it with a knife, a bat a truck like you said or a gun. it's not the guns that kill, it's the personpulling the trigger, or swinging the bat or driving the truck. now the legal gun owning citizen is much less to crack and use that weapon than a POS gangbanger on the street defending what they think is their turf or shooting the other POS over some crack or whatever...or even killing unarmed citizens for somegang initiation crap....or robbing some poor store owner/clerk. ya see, guns in the right hands do no harm, but guns in the wrong hands do all the harm. therea great benefit to having guns, one to kill game with and eat...thats called hunting. for sport shooting and competions...thats called fun and to some theirjob..and then theres self defense...the thug tryin to rob someone and gets shown a piece...they run..or the thug tryin to break into someones house that getsshown a gun or blown away. and i'm sure that you can find statistics that will support that an illegal firearm or someone not allowed to have a firearm wasused far more in a crime than the legal citizen...make sense? i think so.

Joel- Kitty is a good driver! She likes to run her Savage over child molesters and hypocrits alike without discrimination. Other than that i assure you she isquite the law abiding considerate driver when it comes to sharing the road. Weve had deep discussion on the proper use of SUV's and the morons that abusethem. I honestly cant say much good about Bush or Clinton so how does the statement "I dont give a damn for either ofthem!" strike your fancy? But if youre looking for me to declare a winner for worst of the two then Bush easily takes the cake for most self centereddickwad of all time.
