out of all the cars I've gotten rid of I would say that I most regret selling the 65 Nova SS with only 9,ooo made it was the rarest of the Nova ss 'sbesides the '75. Mine had a mighty mouse 327 in it and it was so light in the ass I had to weld rods in the trunk and add weights for racing. Man thatthing flew I won many a race on Connecting Highway.............

Here's a story:
In the early 90s through a friend we lucked into a low miles, garage kept 1984 Z28 white/red strip hard top that was freakin' fast as hell!!!

Misplaced our pictures of her in our move out, crap! Gosh, we really miss our Z for record pacing trips to Vegas baby!!

End of story: She was stolen from us in the mid 90s and allegedly used as a "chase" or decoy car in a Camaro/Firebird theft ring in SoCalaccording to policeman in charge of the case.

She was found totally intact a couple months later, but with 4 bald tires holy cow! (that were near new at time of thief) and several thousands highlyabused miles added, so our insurance payed us off.

RIP to our Z

Lance

a low miles, garage kept 1984 Z28 white/red strip hard top that was freakin' fast as hell!!!
If it was fast as hell it wasn't stock. The strongest motor in an '84 Z put out a whopping 190 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. Wanna hearsomething scarier? When I first met my wife, she drove an '83 Firebird with an in-line 4 in it - HUGE numbers! 92 hp and 134 lb-ft of torque. Biggestpiece of crap...

Doug
I had a few back in the day. They were easy to come by and cheap. Only if i had a brain, i would have kept a few. BUT!? I would say my favs were

68 Charger
70 Cuda
70 Chevelle

The one I wish I had kept was my 70 Olds Cutlass convertible SX. I've always regretted selling that car, but she needed a motor overhaul, and she neededpaint, and I wasn't in a position to put dough into her. She sat in the garage a lot. I'd break her out on a nice Spring day, blow the carbon out,and respin balance the rear tires!!! It was an interesting car, 455, auto, air, power bench seat, and the highly coveted 8 track player that actually worked. I miss that car...
Doug! Stock or not-- Whatever.. We got the most outta that baby trust me man. And wifey btw didn't let anyone out gun her at the "red light"launch
That's pretty much why she alone got two speeding tickets in a few years together

But fun trips to Vegas were lightning quick up I-15 back in our younger, and dumber days Memories make us miss that car

Lance

Hey Lance, certainly no offense meant by my post - after all, I admitted that my wife had actually made the conscious decision to buy a 4-popper '83. I just don't remember the early 3rd generationF-bodies evoking performance - if I recall correctly, a friend's '84 Z took almost 7 seconds to hit 60 and turned the quarter in 16 something at about85 mph. That's why I'm assuming that yours wasn't stock...

However, compared to everything else available at the time, the '84 faired pretty well:

Road & Track selects the '84 Camaro as 1 of 12 best cars in the world along with the Firebird. It won Best Sports GT category in the $11,000 to $14,000 range. Car and Driver selects the 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 as the best handling car built in the United States.
As for cars I wish I had kept, I know that I've posted these before, but I'd still love to have the opportunity to get ANY one of themback.

My first car ever (I remember swearing that they'd bury me in this one):

For whatever reason, I sold the SS to buy this:

Which was followed with this:

I traded the 240Z for this (had it at the same time as "Flinby" and decided, once again for whatever reason, that I didn't need 2 cars and soldit):

And then the "monster truck" craze hit and I sold the Firebird to buy this (small block 350, Bronco axles, 10" lift with 40" tires):

And frankly, while the newer cars I've had since are definitely nicer with more creature comforts, etc., I kick myself for selling each and every one ofthese...

Once again, no offense meant, Lance!

Doug
A 1969 olive Cuda, it was my sisters first car she hated it because she wanted a newer model, my dad only gave $500.00 for the car. I would give anything tohave that car right now.
