I know it's tough to narrow it down to just ten, but another two candidates: 'Patton' and 'The Deer Hunter'.

My all-time favorite is <strong>Sergeant York</strong>, but others that are underappreciated include: <br><br>* <strong>Run Silent, Run Deep:</strong> Gable and Lancaster in the benchmark submarine flick.<br>* <strong>They Were Expendable:</strong> John Wayne and P.T. boats in the Pacific; not well-known, but well done.<br>* <strong>M*A*S*H:</strong> Some object to a humorous spin on war, but there's some classic stuff here.<br>* <strong>Tora, Tora, Tora:</strong> Made a real impact on me when I was a kid. 'Pearl Harbor' is fluff by comparison.<br>* <strong>Midway:</strong> Some heckle it, but this movie tells an important WWII story in depth.<br><br>Cool Memorial Day topic.
