I have been using AVG for 3 yrs and like it alot. I went from free to the full Internet version in June its worth the piece of mind.
AVG runs specials so thats when you need to signup I got 2 yrs for $65....Keep an eyeout and signup when they have the promo to upgrade from free to the full version.

I have been using ESET NOD32 for about 2 yrs now. Never had a problem...
I used AVG free for the better part of 8 years and never had any issues, but just switched to Norton because Comcast gives it for free.
A lot of people seem to have good luck with AVG...there have been an astronomical amount of downloads, so it can't be all bad. I just bought a new lap top and the people at best buy acted like a took a dump in front of them when i mentioned AVG. They must have some kind of training that tells them they get fired for recommending free software, ha.

Best Buy has good prices on laptops...But as far as software they push whatever they are told to. When I bought my laptop they were pushing Trend Micro and Webroot both ok.
When my sister in law got her laptop they were pushing Norton.
The only 2 I would not use are Norton and McAfee both leave alot to be desired.
I like AVG and if you go full version you have are in great shape. Malwarebytes is excellent to run for malware scans and you can get the free version or lifetime for $20....

you're exactly right. I bought my laptop two years ago and all they could talk about was Kaspersky, now they don't even mention it. I guess because its terrible.

I just got a Gateway laptop PC, from Best Buy, and the salesman didn't try to push anything on me as far as anti virus protection. But it did come with a Kaspersky 6 month free AV program disc, should i use it? I'm currently running on the free 2 month Norton AV program that came with the laptop, but it's not gonna last forever.........
I know AVG is a good system, i'll probably do that when the Norton runs out.........
Ha, I got a gateway from BB too! We probably have the same one. First, I absolve myself of all recommendations on anything to do with computers as I know diddley squat. Having said that, I think the Kaspersky is probably a decent program, it just doesn't work with my older Vista and who knows what else. I spent a month or so on the Kaspersky website trying to figure out the problem and I think its just beyond the grasp of regular humans. The bottom line is, if it works then use it, if its super slow and bogs down everything you do...uninstall it.
