Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
Old school is cool, but I'd opt for modern technology!!
My dad had a beast similar to this one, it was a MONSTER, nobody could get near this thing, left everyone behind...

We also had a Colt 340, a Yamaha 440 (I think), and two others that I don't remember what they were, didn't like riding them, made mom and my sister ride those two...
Fun stuff, great memories!!!
Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
I'm glad to say that where I live, I don't have the need for one. Yeah I would have a blast with it, but where I live I would get to use it maybe twice a year. Hence the reason that after 50 years I just got a snowblower, use it a couple of times then store it all year.
Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
C'mon Colin..let's see a picture of you riding that sucker!
We'd come off that thing reeking of gas fumes,as the carb was stuck there in your chest...lol.
LOL, the old two stroke fumes all over..:) I have a couple yamaha enduros, and after a days riding, its the same way. Not as bad as the exhaust coming out near the legs though.
Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
Frank,
If you wanna see me on one then you have to buy some of my Camaros! As I stated I'm close to buying one but still have not...getting close! Looked at one Blizzard here locally, but the pan had a softball size hole and too many rivets missing, li'l too much work to bite into!

Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
Colin....great topic & best of luck getting that awesome Ski-Doo! I love vintage sleds & have always wanted a 76 or 77 Yamaha 440 SRX as well as a 76 or 77 Mercury 440 Sno Twister. When I get lucky enough to find even a beater, the prices are through the roof so the search continues. Here are a few pics of my two fav sleds.

Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
My father had two nice vintage sleds, a pair of nice Yamahas, GP 292 & GP 433, what I wouldn't give to turn back the clock 15 years. I think he sold the pair for $400...those Merc Snow-Twisters are pretty cool as well!

These are cool,
70 and 71 TNTs. The 70 on the left with the pop up head light ROCKS.

Re: Any Vintage Sled Heads Here???
Gotta give the guys at Massey credit for being resourceful.
Take the hood of one of thier tractors...

And cut it down for the hood of their CHEEZE Whiz!

OK..so maybe it isn't..but they certainly rode like a tractor..lol.
