I know it's not rock but One Tin Soldier by The Original Caste gets me everytime I hear it. We sang it in school in grade 3and I remember my eyes filling up with tears. They still do today when I hear it. ~Karen

Here's another one. Ian Hunter performing Michael Picasso. It's a song he wrote as tribute to the late, great Mick Ronson. Mick collaborated with Ian for many years on & off and was the guitar player for David Bowie in the Spiders From Mars days. Ian was pretty shook up fromMick's death and you didn't hear much from him for about 10 years or so. I've seen Ian perform this song many times over the years and one time sticks with me. I was fortunate to sit in the front row at a small theater we havehere in Cleveland at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I could touch Ian's keyboard from my seat. Anyway, by the time he was done with Michael Picasso, Ian was in tears too. WOW what a great post. I ahve some agreeance here. Cat's N the cradle Beth A man i'll never be. All awsome songs. And rock has several Catagories. Anybody with kids especially a son has to love cats n the cradle. Brings tears to my eyes everytime i hereit!!! Boston A Man i'll never be. Just a awsome song down to earth, my fav boston song. Back around 15 years ago I mentioned an album to my ex-wife that I would like to have on CD. This was before you could find nearly anything on the internet.She actually found it. J. Geils "Monkey Island". I never did tell her why I wanted to hear it again....... aaaahhhhh, Michele. LOL This was mentioned here before but you can find the video's for young@heart on youtube. It's pretty cool how certain songs take on a completelydifferent meaning depending on who is singing it. An 80 year old woman singing The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go" takes on completely different meanings than when Mick Jones sings it. The very best may be the cover of Coldplays "Fix You". I wouldn't listen to Coldplay but Y@H's version is killer.
