My words fail me, Lebron only blew the handling of the game "after" the buzzer sounded. Until then, he was the team, agreed 110%. What really sucksis, he will be the team in NY, if he jumps there as well......

Lebron will always be "the team" no matter where he goes, you get a decent coach and build a team around Lebron that will compliment him, not juststand around and set him up for the highlight reel. Kobe suffered from that after Shaq left and he will carry that stigma with him until he "wins onewithout him" and no matter how fair that statement is, that's the watermark.

Up until I started the threads I had no idea how many "Lakers fans" there were, I have a feeling it's a popularity thing much like Sheepers andhis Blowboy bandwagoning, they get in the finals and they come outta the woodwork, the only time anyone cares to talk about them during the season is Chris andI and he feeds me a lot of inside dope I don't get out here in the midwest sticks. Same with Tom and the Nuggs, never heard a peep outta the boy until theymade some noise in the playoffs and I will be very thankful to them for laying waste to that mouth breathing Dork Dumbassinski and the rest of that kOObantraveling freak show Dallas Mavericks.

I wish the Lakers were the underdogs, I'm not much for running on the popularity train...
Dave, you and your disdain for the Mav's goes together like cornflakes & milk. Turn the page ole boy, we're talkin' finals here, FINALS! YourMavs have been playing golf now for weeks, let them play on.
Yeah, y'know, I gotta say, I just HATE it when the Lakers get into the Finals and suddenly I'm seeing cars driving around with Laker's flags...L.A. fans are notoriously fickle... I'm L.A. born and raised, and they're my team, arrogant misbehaving super-stars or whatever, and I'm behind'em, win or lose.

I don't beleive anybody made any mention of the Nuggs in anythreads during the season.. or I'd have been on them. I really don't recall seeing much of any basketball threads during the season honestly!

Wait, was there an NBA thread started a while back? I vaguely remember posting in that one...either way, please don't put me on any bandwagon talk..I've liked them since I was in 1st grade when my favorite teacher ever Mrs. Will was in love with Alex English!
to add to that, I went to high school with Billups, so was happy to see him back playing for the home team..

and 1 more thing.... I didnt contribute to any of the talk last year, because I was still afraid of the Chugger at that time!
Be afraid.............. Be VERY......afraid.....
haha.. I heard the rumors of a big bad Chargin' Chugger and steered clear of all your rants!
Nothin' but a teddy bear!!

Nothin' but a teddy bear!!

That needs a good tumble in the washing!! Nothin' but a teddy bear!!

Lakers played horrible and still managed a win, even giving up 10, 3 pointers , 2 down 2 more to go!

WOW.. I'm eatring crow tonight!!
Blowout is not good, BUT.... Ya take game 1 in the Finals, good mojo!!!
Is it over yet?

What a shame to see us blow them out like that.

I lost interest at the start of the 4th quarter...Are we really that good?

Probably...
Golden boy looked golden, team defence shuts down a shooting team, odom is awake, Walton took advantage of his size.... etc etc etc, best shot of the nightfrom kobe was his drive to the hole repeated shown in slow motion where he is haked twice and still makes the shot
Live by the 3, die by the 3. Lakers aren't going to be denied for a 2nd year. Orlando is stoked to be there, Lakers are there on business. I thought theLakers could play much better too. I'm sure Orlando will too, but jackin' jumpers all night isn't going to walkout with a ring.
Orlando was for sure overly excited.. thier youth showed for sure. The jump shots werent falling, and it killed them (as you said!).

Oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a miracle .. maybe Kobe will get arrested for raping white girls or something.. lol
Tom, that's dirty sir! You've been hangin out with Chugsdeluxe too long, please come back from the darkside.
No, Kobe's dirty! hahaha.... and damn unstoppable unfortunately!
Chuggs is a whole nother kind of dirty.. we can't even begin to go down that road!
I thought the law was "you can't rape the willing"...
LOL...or it is "no means yes" ?
Wow.... I wasn't expecting that! Did ya see Kobe's teeth? When he gets that look on his face, he will not be stopped. But the story was not all aboutKobe... the Lakers as a team attacked the paint all night long, and that's what's gonna get the job done.

groggerbug wrote:
Wow.... I wasn't expecting that! During the Nuggs series, when JR Smith was acting a fool.. my friend whois a Kobe lover was talking smack about JR Smith.. so I asked him whats the stupid teeth/dog growl look that Kobe does when he's excited. He said he wasdoing that in response to JR Smith's overacting because he made a shot. He didn't want to beleive that Kobe does that in "celebration" ofmaking a shot...even when up 20.

I was impressed with Kobe's interview at halftime with Magic, he was actually decent to listen to, didn't come off very cocky or anything... was alsoimpressed that he said people should get over the LeBron thing...

But that teeth thing.. come on man, you're up over 20, dominating the game.. and you made a shot.. wow.. who cares, calm down, put your teeth back in yourmouth!

I don't care if he tattoos face, wears a sweater on the court, as long as they win. Like M. Jordan's tongue constantly hangin outside his mouth wasattractive, or the birdman's hairdo did anything for his vanity? I'll take that grimace, as long as there's a good ole fashion beatdown attached toit, any day of the week.
Um Tom, about that math we were discussing the other day in regard to missed 3's, and how that would effect the game........

LOLOL!!! Tommy got SPANKED!!!! Hang on dude, it's gonna be a long ride! Kobe....... 40 points and ya hate? He earns every point, if you were a mile up inthe stands you wouldn't even see the teeth, I wish he had vampire fangs, it's a great look!

Sure beats those celebrations by the NFL players who get an occasional sack and they pound their chest, scream and act like the fool when the next play theyget trashed and the other team scores and it's 52-7. The Lakers....... What a TEAM!!! Denver?? Where's Alex English and my brother David Thompson whenya need em'???? Birdman...... What a goof, enjoy the fishing trip.
At least a sack is hard to come by in the NFL..unlike making a basket (especially for Kobe). All the Lakers lovers can never admit Kobe acts a fool.. butdon't worry, the rest of the world see's it!
Birdman = goof --yup, I'll agree. But, he's a pretty good shot blocker at least..
And birdman is exactly where right now???? The rest of the world lines up to see the #1 BB player in da WORLD brotha'!!!! Errrr.....brah!!!!
He's probably at home smokin' a bowl! haha...
and ya, you're right.. the rest of the world lines up, because the world is full of fairweather fans!
Not here my man............ You KNOW better than that!! I would LOVE to sit down and watch a game with ya!!!
Game 2.. GO MAGIC! I"ll be a fairweather Magic fan for this series.. since I wanna see the FAKERS lose !!
It's the only weather you will ever see in the FINALS baby!!!
WTG Lakers!!!
Win by 1, or 100 a win is a WIN baby!!!!!!
just think if they hit all 30 - 3 point attemps HAHAHA
At least the Magic showed up to the game this time....damn lakers..I did like Kobe tripping over himself and laying on the ground holding his azz... I'msure thats what the white girl he gave it too was doing too!

Keep it on the court my man..........
2 more, jus 2 more.......
I'm always bitter when I see Kobe trip over himself, and the other team get a foul..
or the other play where DH got hacked all voer, and because Kobe put his2 thumbs up for "jump ball", so did the ref..

Not saying those 2 plays changed the game.. it was a fair win for the Fakers.. but man, its amazing how the superstar players can get calls just because of whothey are..

Chris.. I wil unfortunately have to retract all my other statements, eat crow, and say, 2 more won't be hard for your team..
Okay, Tom, I commended you before for being the only non-Lakers fan and handling it with such aplomb... now you're startin' to step over the line withthe trash-talkin'....

So another W for the Lakers, partly courtesy of Courtney Lee missing an easy layup at the buzzer... and that poor guy's gonna be waking up in the middle ofthe night seeing that one over and over and over for a looooong time... But ya gotta hand it to the Magic - what a brilliant play!
