No, you got it backwards. I'm the one that would probably be shot. I can't help but I usually do say something to theseladies and who knows, maybe one of these ladies is "packing." That's what I meant. I don't have any guns . Heck, if I was going to shootsomeone , it wouldn't be a lady in a supermarket.

maribell

AH, automatic self check out. I am now avoiding these at the supermarkets. Why ? My 17 year old kid has been looking for a job forthe last 4-5 months. These checkout machines are cool but they are replacing a lot of employees.

maribell

In the local supermarkets, they have taken out 6 or so checkouts, put in 6 of these auto checkers, and have only 1 real checkoutand hence one real checker instead of 5 or 6. Even during holiday season, they will only have one checker even though the majority people do not use the selfchecking machines. Shouldn't they pay you for checking yourself out . Also, since the stores put those in, they have been hiring less.

Maribell I guess maybe I understand what you are saying. Maybe before talking about someone getting shot you should proof-read your post before adding it sopeople don't read it the wrong way.
When I read Maribell's rant about the older folks and counting change and what not, all I could think about is how that person is a human being, andthat's how they prefer to pay. Someone's mom perhaps(maybe yours). I wouldn't be too happy if someone thought of my mother like that at all. That extra thirty seconds doesn't mean squat in the broad spectrum of life. Complaining about it, or getting worked up about it probably takes more than30 seconds of life off of you!!

Things that get under my skin, but don't take time off of my life are the nimrods who drive with their high beams on and seem oblivious to it, day ornight. And the people with their fancy cars who always wait until the last second to cut into the exit lane off of the freeway so they don't have to waitin line like all the "peasants" have to. Having money has it's privileges, right? Entitlements? Status is everything...trust me on this, I seethis happen with BMW's and Mercedes' more than any other vehicle contributing greenhouse gasses...

The fake "global warming" scare tactics are another vent...$$$$$$$
My other favorite is when people call plastic body filler.... BONDO...

Steve
good golly Steve...almost everyone calls it Bondo!!
I love that smell of bondo aka "plastic filler"...

I don't like it when people say I pull out dents...I push them out...Push, not pull...yet, I still manage to sleep at night...

PeepingScott wrote:
good golly Steve...almost everyone calls it Bondo!!

Umm... yeah. Because Bondo is a brand name used for a plastic body filler. So I don't get it, Steve. Do the terms Kleenex for a tissue andBand-Aid for a bandage bother you too? Even aspirin was a brand name.

I hear Google is worried about their name becoming a generic term.

Just got my "holiday" electric bill, you know, the one after having the lights on the house? Seems like balanced billing doesn't apply when the local utility (LIPA) needs some extra coin. total came to $548 for a one-month period from Dec thru Jan. I use a timer, 6 hrs a night for 3 weeks, and this year only had some LEDs in the bushes on the ground. In my very competitive nearby community of homes in an adjacent development (less than 10 yrs old) many people were using the rented holiday lighting-you know all white evenly-spaced bulbs highlighting walkways, rooflines, even property lines. People come to install them and take them down, and store 'em all year. I know some of these people, and their utility bills are $700 and higher, as they are heating these homes with high ceilings. My house is a 33 year year old expanded ranch, maybe 2400 sq. ft. My kids think I'm looney running around turning lights off in their wake. What's so hard about turning off a light as you exit a room?

Man.....something that really ticks me off is the mobile, moving, 'snowbank' That being an a$$ who is too lazy to clean/cear fresh fallen snow off of their vehicle & relies on a small 'port' hole cleared just in front of them on the windshield. Of course these clowns can't see beside or behind them & are going 2 MPH all the while with traffic lined-up endless behind them. Not only is it lazy it's out right illegal.

Physically capable people draggin' butt crossing the street , limited availability of lefty guitars, and RED stoplights that turn RED for NO apparent reason. I.....I don't know if I can take it anymore.
This isn't technically a vent I reckon since I turn it into my advantage, but here goes. When I pull into Mickey D's in the morning and the drive-thru is stacked 15 deep, why do I seem to be the only one to say 'gee, I wonder if I park, go inside and place a to-go order, will that process go quicker than sitting in this line?' and wonder of wonders, every single time, I'm back in my car while the dude I would've followed through the drive-thru has moved a foot or two. Heck, the stuff is bad for you anyways. An extra minute and a half of cardio might help.
