Bill = Great, Generous Man. We chatted a few times on the phone and I will forever keep the red HK Whipper from him, it is one of my favorite pieces. A photo of it is on the Whipper page in the ERG. My sincere condolences to his family.
Rest in Peace!

You will be missed. Rest in peace.
Prayers for you and your family.
Sad...Sad. We were always supposed to get together as we live close-by. Makes you think about other things that you're putting off for "one day", "tomorrow", etc.
Everyone it was a sad day when Anita text me to say Bill had passed away. I was fortunate to chat with him on the phone and get to know this great man. We had dealings back and forth years ago and then we exchanged phone numbers so could become friends and know each other better. Our time on the phone wasn,t long as Bill struggled to breathe from health promblems due to smoking . He was going to rehab for many years of his life but what brought him great happiness was family , friends and hotwheels. Last year we had chatted and i knew he was looking so much to seeing his grandchildren coming that up-coming month. So with Anita, me and the members here on RLOL we did an auction to repay him for all his years of kindness. There are so many i know on here got a free hotwheel from him thru my things he would come up with as give-away topics. As i hope everyone checked and looked at pics of Bill and his family that was our 1st views of what Bill looked like. I had a voice thru phone but never knew what he looked like. Last year i would have bid anything to win that auction as i knew the money was going to give him and grandchildren a great week together.
One day i got a box in mail from him containing a digital cam with intstuction sheet. He said he had bought a new cam and wanted old one to go to a friend that could use it. That is just one of his special gestures.
I called his house yesterday and i think talked to his daughter and expressed the RLOL communities sadness in hearing of his passing. She said they had been checking here and seen our words and pics and wanted to say how sweet it was. She told me there wasn,t going to be a service but gave me their address. To me i,m going to send something to them in the mail like a gift card to a restaurant as i know a good meal will come in need and flowers will not be needed since no funeral service......his address is......

Prayers go out to all his family & friends................
This is Michele, Bill's daughter. I am posting a link to his online obituary through the funeral home, and also a link to the one from the newspaper. I think the funeral home one will be up for about a month.
The internet, and more specifically these boards and facebook, was such a godsend for my dad. He was always the kind of person to be on the "go", and the internet allowed him to still "go" without leaving the house. I know the genuine community and friendships he had here helped keep him gonig these last years, far surpassing what the doctors initially told him when he got sick in 1998. They said he would have 2 years TOPS. Instead he went for 12 more.
He was crazy about my boys, and it was mutual. I'm so glad we were able to be here in July, and that they're old enough now to have 'real' memories of him.
Thank you again for all the nice words we've read here and elsewhere online, and the phone calls, and everything else. I've bookmarked these threads on my mom's computer, and I know they will continue to be a comfort for her and for all of us.

Thank you again for being such a great community for my dad. :)
Michele,
Thanks so much for taking the time to post what you have. You are a very strong daughter to go through what you have and take time to think about his friends here, of which he had many. It is easy to tell that you are his daughter just by your kindness and your heart felt post.
If there is anything I can assist you with, Hot Wheel questions or otherwise, please do not hesitate to get a hold of me. My number is 714.849.0537 and my email is jhakes@socal.rr.com
Take care and God bless you and your family.

ps...I sent you a private message.
Wow.... Sorry to hear the sad news. He touched many lives with his kindness.
My condolences to the family.
kenneth - I tried to email you at the address here on the boards. It wouldn't let me send you a private message. I don't know if you got the email and/or responded or not, because I get SO much (mostly junk) mail that I miss some sometimes. Anyway, if you can email me at Keegan524 and that is a gmail address. My mom has some questions about my dad's cars. Thank you! :)
I just found out about this earlier today (thanks Scott and Karen) and am very sad to hear the news!
The previous 7 pages show how much Bill meant to the people on this site and the hobby overall.
He actually sold me my first three Porsche 917s that got me hooked on that casting. My prayers
and thoughts are with his family and he will be missed!
