Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
I don't know the value but that has to be a pretty early "Find Me" radio. FM stations were pretty rare in the 40's and that radio has to be from the 50's. FM never did catch on until the early 70's. Much do to the actions of RCA which lead to the inventor of FM to kill himself. (a story you can look up)
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
That radio is from circa. 1951 and it is a rare one. That radio I've seen sell for as much as $250 and as little as $10 so you have a broad price range. Of course, that radio was working and refurbished. I'd start the bidding at $50 and see where it goes from there. Is the plastic good? Cracked plastic on bakelite radios will make or break the sale.

The radio is in very good shape. The plastic is perfect. a friend of my sisters went through it. he replaced a tube or two. It's a neat old radio. Would you put it on ebay? Or somewhere else? Thanks John
By the way I have another old wooden Silvertone catalog#6050 in sears and roebuck can't find the mod# it works also. heres a quick pic.

The bottom one is a old panasonic stereo multiplex that sounds nice.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
I'd be so tempted to keep that, lol. Personally, I'm afraid of shipping things like this or glass, so eBay at your own risk, try to sell local first if possible.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Oh, and I got another bicycle in today. It is an AMF Skyrider Deluxe with a working headlight tank and a license sticker from 1974.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Craigslist, pick up only. I just sold a reel to reel that way. Too much hassle to ship.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Yeppurs. I'm also starting to eBay today. Time for them Christmas shoppers to be lurking! The prices are starting to climb too on Christmas decorations. So the Hallmark ornament will be first.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Sold the rotary phone today.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
I haven't updated this thread in a couple weeks, but I went to the junkyard two weeks ago, got some parts from the Montego GT and Galaxie 500 front clip. I have to go back and finish stripping the Montego, it is a very rare car that is unrestorable, but a parts gold mine. I plan to pick the gauge cluster package from it, the other GT mirror, floor shifter and hump if I can, and maybe the belt-line trim. I'll see about getting the "GT" emblem off the dash and the steering wheel pad.
I got these for $75 at the junkyard two weeks ago. I will keep the door panel until I get the other three off. Otherwise, finding a buyer will be like a needle in a hay stack. I'll save the cluster panel until after I get the cluster itself. Same deal. The Galaxie 500 parts will end on eBay soon and I can see me making good money. I have LONG parts request list.

In other news, the Bugs Bunny ornament SOLD today, Buy It Now for $15.95. Free listing fees, I paid $1 for it, so I'm still making profit even after feepay gets their cut.

great pictures and stories. Thanks for sharing!
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Well, another auction ended moments ago for the hood letters. $12 going to Turkey! I have a Royal 501 vacuum cleaner from the 60s with the box and literature ending too. $12 no bids, 7 or 8 watchers! It has become a stir on vacuum collector forums apparantly, but no one has pulled the trigger!
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
The "Galaxie 500" fender script sold today, a bidding war of 11, and a final price of $31.50. Starting bid was $10.
So far, breaking even and making a profit so far from the junkyard picks should not be hard I only sold two little pieces so far (others pending). So far, I have got $31.50+$12.00=$43.50-$75.00=$31.50 left until I start profiting. I will easily get that, I'll be going back from real potentially big dollar items soon.

LMAO!
I read somewhere there was slogan in the 1920s. it went something like:
"Sucks better than a good flapper girl"
I forget which company had it though.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
I went junkyard pickign again yesterday. Sadly, closing early, so I had to pick and choose my battles. I went for the gauge cluster from the Montego GT. I paid $10 for it. I'll go back Wed. when I have more time and are off from school. I also went to the antique store again and picked up a few Hallmark Christmas ornaments for cheap. One of which was VERY familiar. I'll get pics or better yet, just look here:

I'll try and pull up some links of the CAR STUFF for you guys. The wether will warm up Friday and Saturday so I may go picking more then.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Oh, I also have been flipping Hallmark ornaments and I had pink '59 Caddy come through. If it didn't sell, I would have kept it. But I am stuck with a Nutcracker Mouse King and a Coca-Cola Santa it looks like. Off to my friend's flea market!
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Here are some pics of the parts from the Montego I have picked and most I posted on eBay and sold already. I still have the door panel which I need a box for, and the front fender emblems. I plan to go back later this week when the weather is nicer.
