Great Pics...here is my fav Moto-Ski...GPS..or Gran Prix Special, came stock with 503...one of the few sleds that was near race ready and pushed 100 with very little additional set up. It was the sister of the Blizzard 7500 by Ski-Doo as you can see by the similarities.
My buddy had one, said it came with a V-Trac sled, and he could easily hang 40-50' stand ups no problem.

I always figured the motoski's as the Doo-ski's poor cousin..:shifty:..lol.
Hey Colin, glad you liked the pics as I always loved the Moto-Skis as well & you're 100% correct with that comment Frank.....those orange sleds sure looked cool on the snow. Here's a few more:

These can be had for much less than original retail...my old man let one of these and a GP 433 go way too cheap...cool looking sled!

Those old 440 Exciters were a good solid, reliable and relatively quick machine for a 440.
I saw my uncle this past week and he recalls getting a shipment of two trailers of sleds...it included the Ski-Doo Alpine which is a single ski twin trak piece of crap. Also included were a Dauphin, which was only made for 2 years and a cool looking lite green sled called an Apollo which had a backrest. This was 1970-71 around Christmas. I ended up with the Dauphin, and only recall riding it twice before some dumb ass cousin put straight gas in the tank and fried it!
Love the Yamaha's. Great lines & better performance. A great memory I have is of a neighbor who had a 76 440 SRX & would fly from one end of the field in back of our house, to the other end like a bullet.....what a machine and that unique sound when wide open.

Ahh...very nice. This was my model, except, mine was a black.
How about some love for those fast & light Sno-Jets, Kawasaki/Sno-Jets, & Kawasakis. Always loved the Invaders, SST's, & Thunderjets....heck, loved them all!

Brad Warning and his monster Kawasaki 5-cylinder radial, with motor creator and builder Paul Groth... and below in the first video, they answer the question: "Does it Run?"
Just click on the link below & there's an interesting story with how this machine & engine were built. There is also a youtube link on this page that shows it running. Cool stuff.

The Sno-Jets rock! I don't think you left any pics for me to post however!
LOL
Colin
Gotta love the Sno-Jets. What many people didn't realize about them was that from '71-'76 98% of these Sno-Jets had Yamaha engines in them.
Had to share this as I don't believe that I've ever seen anything on an Argo sled. That's a pretty cool looking snowmobile!

I wonder if this would top 60MPH???

I wonder what the R&D Dept was doing at Wheel Horse...and many think the MF Skee-Whiz is ugly...
I dunno, I think that Hornet on pg 6 takes #1 spot, with the Wheel Horse a close 2nd. 3rd is a tie between the Cheeze Whiz, and the big full sized Mercs. Thank heaven they made the Twisters to at least help redeem themselves..;)
That shot of all the sleds stacked up in storage is awesome. Someone had some foresight.
Great story about that custom made rotary sled. Incedible amount of work there.
Nice shot of that Silver Bullet Don. Those were a nice machine too.

Colin, I have to agree on some of the designs that came out back in the day make you wonder what the heck they were thinking? Thanks Frank on the Ski-Doo Silver Bullet pic.....it's actually a Cox gas powered model but with very good detail. I was able to find more Bullets & I've always loved the look & lines of this sled.

Went to my bro's today and hit the sleds, 1st 2 pics are of my son and his 1st ever solo, he's 10, of course his cousin who is 5 rides like a nut it sure gets your courage up quickly. He was pretty conservative, yours truly managed to flip the '80 Jag and when I did it was the wrong side of the snowbank landing on the barren driveway! A real blast! Last one is my cousin's racer, I would not want to take a spin on that, it looks plane jane INSANE!!!

Great pics Colin & bummer about rolling the Jag into the driveway but regardless, it sounds like you all had an awesome day of riding in a whole lot of snow. I've actually been searching for a 98-02 Yamaha 700 SRX to be able to take advantage of all this snow......haven't bought one yet, but the search continues. :thumbup1:
