Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Go on eBay and look. There are some original and fully restored number matching Cuda's not bringing 30K. Yep, the sellers are expecting 60K but the bids are barely reaching half of that. A really super nice convert might bring up to 40 and a Hemi even better but nowhere near what they sold for 5-6 years ago.
Do your homework, be prepared to buy and you can find a very nice numbers matching early Cuda for 30K tops.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
I've been looking thru ebay. I see a few I'd be interested in, but they seem high...alot higher than 30K...I got a lot of time to decide. There are some that are restored really nice...and they are high... There are some that are barely restored or not at all... and they would need work, something I really don't want to do. So gotta find excellent original (high), or totally restored excellent show car. Convertable would be nice. I'm more interested in a old/new challenger than a cuda...though those cudas look fantastic. I'm gonna take my time on this...see what comes along...and finally what I can dig up. Thanks for the tips.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
I've read that they are thinking of stopping production on the Challengers, so make up your mind soon.
There is something to be said for new and old, I personally have both and love to switch off experiences. If you can only go for one right now get the new one. the old ones are bucks for a fixer-upper but at least when you complete it, you will have a relaible classic which will ALWAYS give you a bigger thrill than new to drive.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
This is a tough decision, thats for sure. The new challengers are very nice... the more I think about it the more a new sounds better for me. I had some great times in the old challenger, but I bet I can have some great times in the new as well. Still deciding... wish they had a 2012 convertable challenger, It would make my decision easier. I also hear that a newly designed Barracuda isn't out of the question as well... We'll see what they come up with...but by then I'll already be in a car. I wouldn't see why they would end the production of the challenger when sales are so good for them, unless they were replacing it with something else they know would sell like hotcakes for them. Don't you think?
Thanks again
Jimmy

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Leaning vintage now... Damn this is tough...didn't think it would be this hard. There is an AAR cuda in my site right now, I gotta make sure all the numbers match and that its all legit...still going to look around and see. Priced out a new loaded SRT8 challenger in green envy...brand new...comes to nearly 50K whoah. I bet its really fun to drive though.
Thanks Jimbo

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
FINALLY MADE A DECISION!! :) LOL It was tough... The main reason is: I want to use it. I decided not so much me, me....but us. Sure there are faster out there...but this car can hold my family and its beautiful. I only drove it once so far. You wouldn't even fathom how much attention and smiles it got... points etc. Its an awesome car... and wasn't even anticipating all the gadgets it has on it. I haven't really gotten on it to see what it could do, but I pushed it a tad, and it doesn't take long to get up to 60. Fun little features, like registering 0-60 times, 1/8, 1/4 mile. All kinds of goodies. Too bad I need to put it away for the winter soon. :( I wanted to give a big thank you to all that chimmed in and commented... I know it won't hold its value like a vintage, but to me, the time in the car will outweigh the losses. 10 years from now, my boy will want to drive it to prom, and I'll actually let him... though...I'll be hesitant... LOL... Oh...maybe I'll just drive them both LOL...
I went with the 11' because I didn't see any colors anticipated in 12' that I wanted.....and THIS green does it for me. There may be a 2013 with additional upgrade in HP...I may potentially trade it in, but it'd have to be a green similar to this...or maybe a purple. I'm thinking...just keep forever! The only one with the options I wanted was 250 miles away...and there was only 1. Then 1 in Minny with hail damage. The others were in texas and califoria...and a couple in NY. I didn't want a sunroof... wanted Auto (for my wife) and the stripes...those were tough options... (who would have thought) There was a stripe delete in Omaha area...but to put on the stripes it was 1400. To delete them it was 250 LOL. At first I didn't like the rims, but the more I look at them, the more way cool they are! If anyone has seen this paint in person, its fantastic...lights up with a goldish green color when the sun hits it. Anyway, without further ado, heres the new addition!
Thanks again!!! :)

Congrats on your new Challenger! She's a beauty.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
That is a great color. I also liks the stripes. Put it away? Heck, I'll even get a motorcycle out in the winter when it gets into the 40's. LOL
I'm not one to go for all the new stuff but the computer to measure your times would be cool. Congrats.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Nice color good luck with her.
Now start looking for a vintage one to restore while you drive the hell out of this one. Then you will have both worlds.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1 ** DECISION MADE** PICS
Great choice of cars. And even better that you took the SRT8 version. Capable of about 170 MPH stock and lots of cool add ons available. Nice color choice also. Congrats on your new ride.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Great car! Thats a brand new color for 2012, only available on the SRT8.
I think that it's Dodge's new version color of Sublime or Sassy Grass Green from back in the day.
Plus the fact the NEW 392 motor for 2012 is pretty cool as well...
Damn, you'd never think I was a Chevy guy! LOL!
Truth be told, I love ALL Muscle cars, new and old.......
Congrats again!

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Hey guys, thanks again! Jeff, I seen that the auto top speed is low 170s and the manual is almost 180 MPH. I don't have the balls to get it up there LOL..unless I had a track to do it on. I did 130 on a little 600 cc Ninja...felt the front of the motorcycle lifting off the ground :scared:. Drew, this is the last "special" color of 2011. The 2012s didn't really show too many colors that I liked...there is a cool blue coming soon though, called blue streek pearl. There should be a special color coming late as well...kinda wondering what it is. This color "green with envy" is more limited than they had intended because the Sunami in Japan flooded the plant that was supplying the color. I have a hunch some other kind of green is gonna come later in 2012. I also considered the ZL1 Camaro coming for 2012, which is gonna boast 570 HP with their super charged 6.1. Then the shelby cobra is going to go up to over 600 with theirs. Then I've heard for 2013 that the SRT line is either gonna get a supercharger or direct injection in their 6.4 which should put them in line or over the others. I'd like to have the largest HP stock muscle out there, but this is all I really need. Depending on what they do I'll keep this one until I pass. Only thing I might do is trade in for a direct injection. Something with better gas mileage and more HP. Supercharger is just something that I would need to maintain or worry about over time. Would be fun though!!! Its really cool seeing these car manufacturers stepping up to the plate and offering some cool rides as of late. We skipped SOO many years of fun muscle. Glad its coming back a bit. Thanks again guys for the nice comments, and helping us make a good decision. I LOVE THIS CAR!!

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
That car is awesome!!! I'd love to buy something like that but I don't have a garage to put it in. I see the plate holder says Olathe? That's not in the Hawkeye State. Great purchase!

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Hey Lane, yep, I had to get it from that dealer as it was the only one that had the options I wanted. I don't have room really either. I got a 3 car garage... The Challenger takes one stall...my wifes RAV4 in one stall and little tractor in another...with other lawn equipment. I moved my truck outside now and gonna put a block heater in it. :( Oh well...gotta sacrifice a little, but come the nicer months its not so bad.

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
looks great man, but then again all mopars look great!

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Nice purchase! Good looking Mopar. Mr. Norms garage does a lot of good work if you ever care to modify it.

We were there a week ago as they were turning a new Challenger into a Cuda by changing the 1/4s, etc. We do the interiors for the restoration shop that is owned by the same people. Good to deal with and they know their stuff.

Wow, I see quite a few new Challengers on the road here in LA, but I have NEVER seen that green. And it looks stellar. Great call...enjoy it!

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Thanks for all the thumbs guys! I'm gonna take it for a spin tomorrow. Today I programmed the homelink for the garage doors. Also programmed all the preference settings....then watched a little bit of a DVD (Sword In The Stone)to see if it all worked okay. Gonna get it rust-proofed Friday. Then it'll be all set... Lovin' the car!!

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1 ** DECISION MADE** PICS
Hey man, no promlems here LOL... I LOVE THIS CAR! I'd NEVER be disapointed in my decision, it was the right one for me. I had a vintage challenger about 20 years ago and while it was a nice car for its time, I wanted reliability and something I could take my family anywhere in. This car is THE BOMB... I get so many compliments its unreal...I had no idea I would get this many. Its borderline harrasment IMO...but I'm easy going LOL I know it will loose value over time...just like any new car, but I don't ever plan to sell, so that doesn't matter to me.
Thanks again!! :)
