I feel sorry for David and his family and friends. He was a source of entertainment for myself, my parents and my child and my friends for many, many years. Heleft way too early, no matter what way he went.

I also disagree about saying there is help for everyone...

sometimes things get so bad and go way south and this stuff happens way before help can arrive...

Who knows what was in his head when this tragic event happened?

Only him...

And David...

Please..."Rest in Peace."

Steve,
I am cool with it. I can dish it out & take it. If I wasn't would it matter anyway? I've been banned for less than that.

My cousin Jimmy killed himself years ago. We we best friends growing up & even though he obviously thought he had reason too, there was NO reason to. Thereis always a way out.
So Greg, you can get all book smart on me & quote you usual facts & HJ, you can call me an ass but I spoke from my heart.

I heard on the news (CNN) that his hands were tied up and he had a cloth stuffed (gagged) in his mouth. That to me seems unlikely a suicide. So there may havebeen some 'foul play' regarding his death

I also heard that he was extremely depressed. That could well equate to the mental illness part of this tragedy

I work as a Nurse for the developmentally disabled (State of NJ, Department of Human Services-New Lisbon Developmental Center). If an individual has suicidalideations, it is taken very seriously. They are placed on 1:1 supervision and have immediate psychiatric and psychologic evaluations performed. Some individuals have come to me with depressed, suicidal ideations. I bring them into myNurse's station and do one on one's with them. I spend whatever time is necessary talking 'out' their thoughts. Most of the time, they justneed love and caring-something that is difficult for them to find in a population of schizophrenics, bi-polars, mania, autism, OCD, etc. Fundamentals ofNursing 101 is 'love and caring', and I subscribe to that 100%. It is very rewarding for me when I go to work and have many, many individuals runningup to me to get their hugs. And I hug all of them-for they are human beings just like you and me that need that loving and caring. Unfortunately, I am anexterme minority as most of my peers are there just to perform a task as a job.

I find myself constantly thinking about that song 'What the world needs now-is love sweet love...that's the only thing that there's just toolittle of'.

All of that said, my prayers and thoughts are with the Carradine's.

Allan

Allan,
Even though we've known each other for a few years, I never knew your profession. Your post just brought a smile to my face and warmth in my heart becauseyou are exactly the same person when you are with your fellow redliners as you are when you are with your patients.

You are a good man, my friend.

Bob Jordan

Hmm, I just heard that his genitals were also tied.... Can't have fun w/ yourself if your hands are bound behind your back which isanother story that I read..... There is much more to the story.

Looks like foul play and not suicide.

His hands were bound behind his back...a man with mental illness can't do that himself...can he?

Oh, to be a fly on that wall.

WTF do you think he did it because it felt good?
Well if it turns out to be an accident due to auto-erotica then yes, he did it because it felt goodbut obviously the outcome was supposed to be much much different. Very sad if that is what happened and not to sound horrible or morbid but if that is whathappened chances are, he died...well... happy.

~Karen
