Re: Kind of wondering why!!
I have no problem with anyone buying my items at the price I am asking--whatever they do with it after is ok, it is theirs----I needed a quick sale, and got the $$ I needed at the time.
HOWEVER, dont grind me down on the price with a LIE, then flip it....
Yeah, that would suck! If you want to buy cars with the intent of flipping them, fine. But don't BS our members here to push the price down. Personally, I still have every single redline I ever bought from this board.
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
If someone is going to talk somebody down on a price, don't lie. If you ever watch Pawn Stars, you'll notice they don't say "I need this for the collection". They're honest.
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
I have bought cars here many times and had to sell them soon after. Not because I wanted to make a profit, but because I get in over my head and need the money back. Everyone here knows how addicting these cars can be and its not hard at all for me and others to go way over budget when pursuing a certain car or casting. I agree with Jeff when he says once its yours, its yours to do with as you see fit. I also agree its not cool to grind the price down to make a profit with a lie either though.

Same here. I forgot I ended up reselling a couple of cars after finding I had accidentally bought doubles (again).
Re: Kind of wondering why!!
I can understand if someone really beats you up on something then re-sells it a short time later. I don't want to get into one of those drawn out debates about what defines a "collector" or even worse, a "true collector."
As for myself, before kids, I had plenty of extra money to buy redlines as much as I wanted to. These days, I pick stuff up. Nab deals when I can. Then sometimes, my tastes change, or I need to raise some funds for a killer piece, I sell stuff. Sometimes, I get a piece from a member here and it is not up to par for my collection and it simply has to go. I'd rather resell it than go through the whole return hassle.
As far as I'm considered, when I sell you a car, its your to do what you want. Beat it with a hammer for all I care. If they flip the piece for more money, hey, that's their deal. I got what I wanted for the piece. I don't think I've ever parted with a piece I didn't have a least a slightest inkling that I would one day part with it. So, if some joker said they "had to have it", they will "have to find it somewhere else."
My .02 for whatever it's worth.

Re: Kind of wondering why!!
Lying is wrong, period. It's perfectly fine to resell a car for a profit, but not if one lies to make a couple extra bucks on it.
I personally haven't ever sold any cars. My collection is too small to warrant it. In the future I may sell some though, I don't know.
Just my two Lincolns for what they're worth.
