Re: Time for me to leave this country. Oh Canada here I come!!
I normally try to refrain from political discussion but I figured what the hell on this one. I am not affiliated with any party and never really cared one way or the other. In the big picture of things I don't think it matters one bit who is in office. As long as big business has the ability to influence Legislation and everyone else with money, votes and power it will never change.
If you look back at every political race for the past 20 years and compare what was said in the race versus what was actually done you will see nothing but flip flopping and U turns on policy making and opinions. It's really funny how the promise of a million dollar speaking contract or book contract can change a persons moral stand point on subjects while they are in office. And that only counts if they have Morals to begin with. Most politicians don't even have that. Most only say what they want you to hear to get the votes.
Re: Time for me to leave this country. Oh Canada here I come!!
Hey Gary,...just a heads up to ya....
You are MORE than welcome to come to Canada. Bring your money, assets, your labour skills or professional expertise, your redlines too, we'll put you to work right away...BUT,...
...be forwarned,....if you are lookin' to get away from the degree of liberal values O'Bama represents,...you'd be coming to the WRONG place... Why you might ask...?
Here's how it breaks down...
Comparing the right and left wings in both countries,....our right wing is about as far to the right as YOUR left wing. Our bird manages to fly with 2 wings on the one side. lol...
Seriously,...that's how it is here. Even our right wing is about equivalent in just about all philosophies to the left in the US. Your right wing is largely considered to be a little extreme by our standards.
Hey,...even the chapter of the Canadian Ku Klux Klan had a 'black' member...LOL.... TRUE!!!
There is an exception though, to a degree. You'd want to move to Alberta. It's pretty hard right for the most-part. I lived there for 8 prosperous years. Great place to live!
And if you are HARD HARD right,...well,...there's a bastion of extremism to be found in 'Caroline' Alberta. There is a large fenced off compound there where dudes in brown shirts and red arm bands patrol the perimeter armed with semi-automatic assault weapons.
The weather used to be very harsh there,....but thanks to global warming, there has been a 25 year moderating trend. It's getting vastly more tolerable climate wise. So in that respect, you'd be fine coming from CT.
In Alberta though, they still believe that global warming was caused by 2 men kissing in Central Park in NYC...

Well then..this is what we've been waiting for. I always felt we Canadians won the war of 1812. Yes..200 years ago. But with Gary's surrender..this IS NOW OFFICIAL! So All My American friends, just come along nicely. Surrender all your beer and liquor, and minty redlines, and that way,we won't have to use our pumpkin cataplults on you,or burn the White House down again...ahem..;)
We can now add this to all the history books. Thanks Gary for finally getting that pesky outstanding little detail OUT of the way.

Re: Time for me to leave this country. Oh Canada here I come!!
Thanks for the infomation but you lost me on the global warming. This is another fairy tail sputtered by the lefties. We are currently getting snow in Ct which is very early for us. This must be reversed global warming. There is zero proof of "man made" global warming and if you were to look at trends over periods of time you would be surprised. 20 years ago they were saying there was global cooling and then global warming. Remember the ozone problem and acid rain? What happened to those ideas? If you ask me it's a bunch of crap and only God is in control of mother nature. Alberta might be the place for me though. I don't consider myself an extremist. I just have morals and want limited government. I don't want the gov. telling me what to eat and what to say and how to think.

Actually, didn't they make the 'left' choice?
Re: Time for me to leave this country. Oh Canada here I come!!
I have no reason to doubt the connection in change DIRECTLY associated with the beginning of the Industrial Revoloution. I'm no climatologist or planetary physicist,...but I'm no dummy either. This chart only goes back a 1000 yrs or so,...but the charts that go back millions of years even show the same ebb and flow in temperatures.
You can plainly see the correlation between the sudden and massive burning of fossil fuels by US humans in relation to the start of the I.R....
These folks that have studied this aren't dummies either...
...but you have to question the beliefs of dummies who blame it on Gay people and liberals, and say so dogmatically to flocks of people who don't have the mind to consider it anyhow...
look for yourself... The SUDDEN spike at the right. It's not a lie. If it's a lie,...then so is thermometer outside your window,...the speedometer in your car,...the thermometer the doc sticks in your mouth to check your temperature,...
your clock,...the radar gun the cop uses to clock your speed,...etc...it's endless all the little scientific devices we use to study things and make our lives here better than just living in a cave depending on the whims of some deity...

File
File history
File usage
Global file usage

That cracked me up!
Re: Time for me to leave this country. Oh Canada here I come!!
Jeeze look what's happening now! The Mexicans screwed up their country and are trying to get into the US, the Americans screwed up their country are trying to get into Canada (and will most likely be followed by the Mexicans becuase they will screw up the US even more). Where are we going to go? Russia? I don;t think so! I'm going to have to start a petition to build a wall to keep everyone out (except pretty women). Why would you want to come here anyway? It's cold, we all live in igloos and killer polar bears roam the streets of Toronto! The only good things we have are trees and water and mountains and lakes and rivers and fish and fresh air, and oil and gas and diamonds and beer, bacon, and babes! Stay away.... stay far away. ;)

Re: Time for me to leave this country. Oh Canada here I come!!
We have plenty of gas and oil but it's frowned upon to get to it. Instead of creating thousands of jobs we wouldn't want to leave a carbon footprint or endanger a microscopic bug while drilling for oil. This is still the greatest place on earth to live but it's slipping away for sure. All I know is that there are so many guns being sold right now that the manufacturers can't make them fast enough. Running away won't solve anything. I think I need to get involved at a local level and let my voice be heard. This has got to be the only Country where you can become president with almost no prior job experience.
