Well, Larry, you are now an official CIO. (California Improved Okie)!
I have never thought of it that way.....But I know a lot of NBTC (never been to California) OKIES that would argue that point with you

This is a bridge over a creek you cross to enter my property....I have never owned a bridge before...WAIT isn't there a joke about that?

Do you own a .22??? That pond looks absolutely ripe for turtle shooting. I've done it more than once in Oklahoma, it's a great he man sport!!!
Hi Larry - Best wishes for a smooth move to Oklahoma. Your new place looks great to me! I live about two miles outside of Harrisburg, Oregon which is about 15 miles from Eugene. I have a couple neighbors but there is a 93 acre field across the road. Not totally country but as close as I've been able to find given the location. Why anyone would want to live in town or, worse yet, a city is completely beyond me. The sun is just coming up at my place and other than the birds it is absolutely dead quiet. If you've never lived in the sticks before you may actually find it a bit unnerving for a couple weeks.
I was born and raised in Kansas. Brace yourself for the humidity. Depending on the year it can be unpleasant. The best part is it leaves in the fall. Buying several floor fans to keep the air circulating will help a bunch.
Any bass?
Lane
Thanks Scott and Lane....Yep there are turtles and Bass. This house sort of popped up and fell in our lap. I was not ready to retire(relocate) but it was in our long term plans. Lori and I are both from Tulsa and we understand the weather and the humidity issues. Hopefully no surprises there.
I spent 3 weeks working on the house in March. I just love the quiet and the wildlife....Other than the mud dobbers that have taken over the outside of the house.
Here is a sample of the wood work in the house....Game room ceiling.
