I'll be donating toys this year but I don't want to be entered in the contest. Way to go karen, very cool of you to have this toy drive. Also very coolof all the folks here for being so kind in the Holiday season.
Peace,
Preston
I don`t want to be in the contest.Just got home from collecting toys with my fire department for toys for tots.Been taking fire trucks to our mall for thefourth weekend in a row.Seems like every time we go we as firefighters put in more than we collect. It seems like people aren`t as giving this year as it hasbeen in the past.Of course it snowed several inches today and has now turned to freezing rain.We also adopt a couple families to make sure they have aChristmas. So jump in and give.Toys for Tots is a great organization. Now it`s time to get warm.
Greg
Thank you Dan, Preston and Greg.

Dan, your name has been added to the list.

~Karen
Hey Karen. Made the trip to get a toy today. I also was able to dig up about 103 hotwheel BP's that i didnt need and donated them also. Heres some pics

Picked this one out cause it doesnt need batteries and looked like it would hold up well. While i was in wally world picking this out i started thinking when iwas walking by the HW's rack. I thought to myself i easily have a case or so of unopened newer hotwheels that i just dont need. So after buying this one iran back home and picked some cars out that i knew i had several duplicates of. Im getting rid of all my blackwall collection anyway so why not donate some ofthe more common cars.

Some duplicates of stuff i didnt need. Theres 2 reproduction redlines in there! Over 100 cars. Now i just need to figure out how to get them to where i couldeasily drop them off. Bag time!

Now this is what i call Herbie fully loaded! Much better than that crappy Lindsey Lohan remake. Had to put one of the bags under the front hood cause itwouldnt fit in the back seat. Gotta love the roominess of a bug.

Herbie was stoked. He started flipping out he was so excited. I had to give him a minute to calm down.

Ok all loaded up and off to the drop box at toys r us. I couldnt believe the local wal mart didnt have one!

And after all that i forgot to take my camera inside the store with me to take a pic. So i dunno if im even eligible to be entered in the contest. Who cares! Ihad fun doing it!

I also got pissed because right as i placed the toys in the box these 2 crazy looking weirdo's started eyeballing the bags full of hotwheels. I went towalk away and turned to look back and they both were standing around it looking like they were getting ready to dig through it. So i walked back over to it andthey asked me if there were any cars called treasure hunts in the bags. I kindly told them no and that i was a collector and the cars were of no great value. But they just kept standing there eyeballing the bags full of cars like 2 crazed vultures. I had to stand by the box for a good 10 minutes until they walkedoff. So then im walking out of the store and they come walking back in the store and pass me on their cell phones talking to thier friends or whoever about howthere's a bunch of hotwheels in the Toys for Tots box. Eeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! So i followed them back in and guess what? They were hovering around the box again! So i asked if i could help them and they said they were justwaiting for a friend. Yeah i bet they were! I finally spotted one of those holiday security guards and told her what was going on. She wasted no time tellingtheir scumbag asses to leave the store! I cant wait to get hired with the local PD so i can put aholes like these 2 clowns behind bars. Geeze whats wrong withpeople?

Justin

Finally got to the store and picked up a few things for the tots. Had a hard time finding a drop off. We went to the toys r us also but the box to drop offitems was sitting right by the front door and we didn't feel comfortable leaving anything there. I am glad we didn't after reading about the hot wheelsvultures!! So we went to the local Harley Davidson shop and dropped off a bike with a helmet and another toy my wife dropped in the box before i could take apic of it. Didnt really want to start reaching back into the box and pulling toys out !! On the news we heard that donations to the toys for tots are waybehind last years donations. This was a great idea, thanks Karen!!!(And RLJ for posting pics and donating!!)
Tracy

This bike handled really well through the Wal-Mart aisles!!

Antelope Valley Harley Davidson

my roomie decided to split the cost with another co-worker for a bike request on the tree too. I just thought it was cool of him to step up like that (hedoesn't have any kids, so this is his way of giving in the spirit) and be so generous .... wanted to give him props (even though he'll never see it,lol).

Merry Christmas all ...... keep the pics/giving coming.

We've donated several food items for them and thereare many, many, many other food items, clothing, toys and even a t.v. My daughter's Cub pack adopted a family too and donated food, toys, clothes and moneyto them. There are a lot of charities around here at Christmas time and we try to help out as much as we can. We donated toys to the Tree of Hope a couple ofweeks ago as well. It's great when so many people help out others. You all are so awesome!!

~Karen

Here's a couple of toys my wife and I picked out (for a boy and girl). My wife is a 2nd grade teacher in an urban school system and she buys her studentsa little gift at Christmas. A couple of years ago, one of the little girls in her class didn't open her present and Debbie asked her why. The girl saidshe wanted to take it home so she would have something to open Christmas morning. It's easy to forget that there's a lot of need out there but thanksfor putting this out there and thanks to all for helping such a worthy cause.

Tom
