The person we are talking about is NOT innocent so that rant is pointless, and attacking other's religious beliefs really just removes all credibility fromyour argument. You want to respect the rights of killers, yet you direspect the right to freedom of religion all of us LAW ABIDING citizens are entitled to!!

As far as having compassion for a murderer? This is a person who did not have compassion for his own child!! He does not deserve compassion, he killed a womanand child and dumped her body in a park like he was throwing out trash, he is an animal that deserves to die.

This is an opinion poll. No matter how much we agree or disagree, we have no say in this matter. We will just have to sit back and see what happens.

I attacked no Christians, I posted an observation! Just because you're a Christian, doesn't automatically make you a law abiding citizen. 80% ofAmericans believe in God. I guess the only criminals are the ones that comprise the remaining 20%. If you are a Christian, you follow the path of Jesus, notsubscribe to that perverted garbage schemed up by a bunch of no-goods who are merely 1/2 of a chromasome away from being a chimp! If you are a Christian, youwould take no offence to my words. If you are the latter I mentioned, ya, I've dealt with that kind all my life! Who do you follow, Jesus? There is only 1Christ. If you are a CHRISTian, you are that of Jesus. I'm not even a Christian but I'm more like him than 95% of the so called Christians I'veever met. Maybe I am him, prove me wrong! Many people have told me that I look like Jesus, whatever that is (olives anyone?) Funny though, I have a birthmarkin the same place and the same size and shape of the crucified Jesus' stab mark in his ribcage, not to mention my life experience. Ya, Jesus was acarpenter, and he had offspring whose genetics spilled down through the ages. That's it. That's my new belief and everyone else is a heathen!Andy

One more thing to consider. Catholicism, which is the only one true religeon (LOL) says that the soul doesn't enter the body until it reaches foetushood. How many weeks along is that? I guess you're not a baby or a person until that time. So if you are reading this as a zygote or something, you're outtaline. As far as I know, in Judaism, life doesn't technically begin until you've taken you're first breath. So unless Mom drops in snorkel, I guessyou don't exist. So which belief is correct? I'm not defending the killer, and it's all very repulsive to me. I'm not even one for abortions, and especially later term ones, but I do realize that it's a womans choice what to do with her body, but certainly not the perps decision!Andy

BlueWagoon wrote:
Thomas Jefferson's famous phrase: If you relinquish freedom for security, you deserve neither! Same kinda thing with the D.P.. What kind of justice system do you have if it executes innocent people. It's more important in a democracy to protect 1 innocent person from such a fate than to let many go.

Amidst all of the verbiage you have managed to touch on a powerful truth. At one end of the spectrum you have a justice system which includes the deathpenalty. Occasionally innocent people will be put to death by mistake under this sytsem. At the other end of the spectrum (commonly called the liberal end) thesystem will allow guilty people to walk free occasionally rather than risk killing an innocent person. This is done by demanding a very high degree of proofbefore convicting . We in the U.S and Canada are living under the liberal system at this time. But the pendulum does swing in response to public outrage at somany guilty people being released only to kill, rape, or rob again. The point is that if you want the liberal system don't whine about criminals walking thestreet. You have gotten what you wished for.

ok, love the responses. let me throw a little more detail to the horrible crime he committed. one evening he goes to her home, and the two year old boy isthere as well. aparently from what he says there is an arguement, a struggle and he accidentaly kills her...yeah right. he actually yelephone a woman friend ofhis after she was dead and, and she helped dispose of the body. the woman accomplice said that he had motion that he killed her with a choke hold...anyways.this murder takes place right in front of the two year old boy...the two year old boy witnesses his daddy kill his mommy!!!!!! he then raps her up in a floorrug and drives off to dispose of the body. now mind you she is dead, but the baby inside of her is still alive at this time, and probably was for another houror so. so he could have saved his unborn daughters life!!!! he drives around thirty miles or so to a park in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. there theydispose of her body with the baby still in her in a make shift grave. nine days later...NINE DAYS...he decides to cooperate and leads police to the body. youtell me that this POS doesn't deserve to die. the ONLY reason he was not found guilty of aggravated murder for killing his girlfreind, was due to the factthat the body was decomposed to babdly and the medical examiner was unable to determine the cause of death, just that she died by the hands of another makingit a homicide. i firmly believe he went there to kill her, but that could not be proven cause it would have taken him to admitt that, but he said it was anaccident. also, the womans mother went over to her place two days...TWO DAYS!! after she was last heard from and found the two year old boy home alone in avery soiled diaper. the boy said...daddy mad...mommy in rug!!!!!! this low life scum sucking POS deserves to be taken out back and shot!!!! an eye for aneye!!! an eye for an eye.............................

That is vile! I understand the sentiment. No Liberal wants bad guys walking around anymore than innocents being put to death. The trick is to strike the rightbalance. There is a homeless guy in my small town who when he was about 12 witnessed his Dad kill his Mom. It absolutely destroyed his life. He was livingunder a tarp in a hole on abandoned land by the harbour last winter. This guy just can't get it together. He's spent the last 25 years or so sellingdope, break-ins, thievery, etc....The last I heard he was draining parking meters in the middle of the night. There's a lotta folks around here who wouldreally rather just see the guy dead, just about all of whom are right wing Christians! This speaks to Christianity for me! I'd just like to point out that "compassion" for a criminal doesn't mean setting them free.

Compassion means giving them the opportunity to be fully accountable and fully responsible for their actions. This is the only way to turn a crime into apositive thing. If we just kill them, no one is served and nothing is accomplished; the only thing we've served is our need for revenge.

But there's no such thing as revenge. It's a mirage.

Greg
