Imagine waking upon that bus to the sound of screaming. You look back and see a man cutting the throat of the person beside him. Blood everywhere.Only room for one person inthe aisle. You have a pillow or duffle bag to protect yourself. Now you see that the victims head has been nearly severed from his body. You are going tocharge down the aisle and confront him single handed? Maybe. But I doubt it. Everyone else got off the bus safely.Several people took it upon themselves tograb makeshift weapons. They kept the killer on the bus till the RCMP arrived. Then they kept him contained till the response team got there. Remember wedon't carry guns here.Which probably is a good thing. Otherwise a few passengers would have got shot. You don't need to worry Johnny.Theres no shortageof courageous people in Canada. Wait for a few more facts to come out before passing judgement.---mike

But seriously, if some guy comes after you with a hunting knife in one hand and somebody's head in the other, are you really going to try to fight him?
YES! Thats the problem the the people in the world today nobody wants to get involved. It was a knife not a gun!!

Like the army private who was sentenced to death for raping 8 and murdering 4back in 1988 and then TWENTY YEARS LATER president Bush gave permission for him to be executed. What's the point of Capital Punishment if you're goingto wait so long to put the person to death?? Meanwhile he's enjoying all the same things you're complaining about our prisoners enjoying. May as welljust sentence them to life in prison cuz they'll probably end up dying of old age or some disease like cancer before being put to death.

We can all say what we want about those people on the bus but we weren't there. The guy was sitting at the back of the bus with thevictim. By the time people realized what was going on he was most likely already dead. Why risk more deaths unneccesarily? Getting everybody off the bus andkeeping the psycho inside was probably the smartest thing they could have done. I sure wouldn't want to be in any of their shoes. Well........something DID happen similar to that right here in Texas. I believe it was in Killeen, TX. This sick bastard came in to a restaurant and startedblasting innocent people. Well.......one guy had the license to carry. That guy took him out. end of shootings. If somebody had the license to carry on thatbus, maybe the victim would still be dead but the sorry bastard killer would be on his way to hell right now. What's next? Outlaw all knives? That killermight have just as well had a gun. Oh yeah, that's right......I forgot....it's illegal to have a gun in Canada. I'm sure this killer didn'twant to break "that" law. All the while he was holding the head of that guy.

Mike:
No. No intent there at all. I am merely making a point that gun laws don't work. In fact, why is it that college campuses are considering having licensedgun carrying people on campus? The Virginia Tech incident would have bee a lot shorter if somebody was able to "take him out". Plus, ..............ifcriminals "know" there is the possibility of somebody packing heat, they might think twice about doing it. When they KNOW nobody is packing they staband behead people on buses whenever they feel like it.
