Whoooo weeee, 28-0 at the half, what a blowout
Man, all I can say about Colin is...

"What a friggin' wimp!" I mean, look at the pictures! Here he is, direct from Buffalo, and who is wearing a t-shirt? Me! Check him out... Along sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt AND a windbreaker! "Oh, it's cold... Don't go so fast.... Oh, it's cold..."

I've gotta rag him about something 'cause I just had a fantastic time with Colin and his brother. They are two of the nicest guys you couldask to meet and had me laughing the whole time we were on the lake - recounting stories, harassing each other (and me!), b*tchin' at the fish, etc, etc. Something tells me that there aren't too many dull moments with Colin around - I can only imagine their family reunions!

They met me at Bass Pro Shops straight from the airport on Friday afternoon (though the car rental guy tried sending them to Tucson) and we picked up suppliesand their fishing licenses. I led them to get dinner but had to head home myself. I called Colin shortly after 9:00 to let them know exactly where and when Iwould meet them in the morning (note to self and others: never call Colin after 9:00!, lol...).

I hooked up with them at about 7:30 Saturday morning and we were on the lake by 8:00 or so. Much to Colin's chagrine, I took them on a quick tour of thelake before we started fishing (he had his line in the water before we even got out of the no wake zone!). We spent about 3-4 hours trying this area or thatarea, trolling here and there, and ended up catching squat - not even a nibble. I'm getting nervous at this point 'cause I know Colin's gonna gohome and never let me hear the end of it right here on RLOL. At some point Colin's brother needed to make a pit stop. Luckily for him, I was driving asColin never would have let him do it - there were fish to catch gosh darn it (mind you, this was after 4 hours on the water)! It was also lucky for us as wemet a guy that was experienced at fishing Saguaro and he pointed us in the right direction. One of us also figured that we might want to try some live bait. Who was that again, Colin (hint: it wasn't me)? Anyway, with worms in hand, we headed out to the area suggested to us and literally within probably 10-15minutes we had our first fish (small-mouth bass). We spent the next 5 hours pulling fish from within probably 100 yards in either direction of this spot - wehad small-mouth bass, large-mouth bass, catfish and even a few sunfish. Oh, the "big one that got away"? Actually there were two - a beautifullarge-mouth and a huge catfish - and BOTH were mine! And both due to Colin's skill at tying hooks. No hard feelings, Colin. If it weren't for youthey wouldn't have been on my line in the first place. After a great day, we pulled out of the water shortly after 5:00 or so. Enough typing, here'sthe pics:

Colin (right) and his brother (I could swear that his brother took one of Colin and me right after this but I can't find it)

Saguaro Lake is a bald eagle preserve. I had a great time, Colin!

Sorry the Cards couldn't cap off the weekend for you - I hope that you at least had fun at the game and the rest of the weekend! This is the doc's first RLOL reply. Doug was the most gracious host of all time. Anyone who can put up with my brother for more than 10 minutes is a saint! Thanks Doug, for a great time and an accurate depiction of what happened. Probably the best fishing day I have ever had.

Smilin' Mighty Jesus!

The Doc
