Hunt something that has a chance, sniping from a shed from a mile away with a scope ain't sport, that's Lee Harvey Oswald stuff!! McDonalds burger?? SURE baby i'm all for that, but i'm not gonna shoot a standing cow and put it's head on my wall all for the sake of it's meat!!
Dave disagrees with everyone? I am shocked. Deer jerky is very different from what you buy at the store. I am not sure when sniping from a shedbecame hunting, or maybe you have only seen it in movies, but around here guys actually hunt, and they fill their chest freezers with alot of meat because ofit. The shooting is the finality at the end of the hunt. Hunting is about the hunt, tracking your prey through the woods, and at the end hopefully a cleanshot drops them as humanely as possible. At the end the deer is outmatched no doubt, but until then they have the upper hand as you are in their house, andmore often than not they get away. No one I know snipes from a shed while deer parade in front of it...LOL! That happens on those two week hunting vacationsat a lodge where you shoot a tame deer! That is just target practice, not "hunting".

I've lived off wild game all of my life. Jamie's right once you pull the trigger, it's over and the work begins. Out where I live we don't huntalot of deer, don't get me wrong, deer are hunted. Elk is mostly what we fill our freezers with. One elk will keep me out the meat isle at the grocerystore for just about a year, and it's one of the healthiest proteins for you. Any how, we went 5 out of 6 this year, our best also. My nephew shot hisfirst elk and that's always exciting. I hunt the Centennial mountain range on the border of Idaho and Montana, it's beautiful. Once you shoot your elka couple miles in it gets interesting...
