When the Yankees didn't win the series from 2001-2008, was the organization just throwing money away on payroll? So this year they win, they"bought" the series??? Someone had to go out and actually play the game, checkbooks didn't field, hit, pitch, and think. Every year there's adraft, every year all the teams get to pick from the same pool of players. Some teams would rather not spend the money on players-and the seats in the stadiumsare empty as a result. New York, by default, is a high-profile sports city. It's the cultural and financial center of the world. When I walk throughManhattan any day of the year, 24 x 7, I see throngs of tourists. Anything you want-it's right here, period. I have been lucky enough to travel to mostmajor cities in the US over the last 20 years, and none have the same attraction that New York has on a global scale. It stands to reason that there are morepeople, which means more overall spending dollars available, that want to pay for and go to sports events here in comparison to many US cities. Sorrymiddle-America, that's just plain demographics.

When you take all this into consideration, it's a wonder that there is even any type of competition on a national level.

The Yankees have been a dynasty, always will be. Ask anyone anywhere in the world if they ever heard of Yankee Stadium and where it's located. Then askthem if they know where Citizens Bank Park is.

It just does not matter. The Yanks are the champs. Like it, dont like it, lots of money, no money. The fact remains. Nothing anyone can do about it.
