I would also vote for Saving Private Ryan as the best (other than the WTF moment when Ted Danson shows up), an absolute emotional wringer from the storming of the beach right through the scene in the cemetary. You simply feel drained after watching it. Powerful stuff. <br><br>
My favorite though is Stalag 17, if I can count a POW camp movie as a war movie.
