I made another sheet metal purchase for my bug. I'm not sure I will install it when I get it ready, but I always thought it was better looking than theoriginal. It is another deck lid (engine cover), it is for a '52 to '57 Beetle. It is called a "W" lid. Once you see the pics, you will seewhy it is called that. Anyhoo, I got a great deal on it because it is "slightly" damaged. Let me know what you all think of it.. I took some beforeand after/during pics.<br><br>Before.....? I don't want to go into engine lid overkill, but here are the latest pics of the W lid I am repairing. I spent about an hour today beadblasting, grinding,stripping, hammering, dollying, sanding and filing. I wish the carburetor on my 1988 Honda Accord LX was that simple. It's got so many vacuum hoses running to it, it looks like someone dropped in to bowl oflarge black spaghetti.
