Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
Go on eBay and look. There are some original and fully restored number matching Cuda's not bringing 30K. Yep, the sellers are expecting 60K but the bids are barely reaching half of that. A really super nice convert might bring up to 40 and a Hemi even better but nowhere near what they sold for 5-6 years ago.
Do your homework, be prepared to buy and you can find a very nice numbers matching early Cuda for 30K tops.
Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
I've been looking thru ebay. I see a few I'd be interested in, but they seem high...alot higher than 30K...I got a lot of time to decide. There are some that are restored really nice...and they are high... There are some that are barely restored or not at all... and they would need work, something I really don't want to do. So gotta find excellent original (high), or totally restored excellent show car. Convertable would be nice. I'm more interested in a old/new challenger than a cuda...though those cudas look fantastic. I'm gonna take my time on this...see what comes along...and finally what I can dig up. Thanks for the tips.
Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
I've read that they are thinking of stopping production on the Challengers, so make up your mind soon.
There is something to be said for new and old, I personally have both and love to switch off experiences. If you can only go for one right now get the new one. the old ones are bucks for a fixer-upper but at least when you complete it, you will have a relaible classic which will ALWAYS give you a bigger thrill than new to drive.
Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
This is a tough decision, thats for sure. The new challengers are very nice... the more I think about it the more a new sounds better for me. I had some great times in the old challenger, but I bet I can have some great times in the new as well. Still deciding... wish they had a 2012 convertable challenger, It would make my decision easier. I also hear that a newly designed Barracuda isn't out of the question as well... We'll see what they come up with...but by then I'll already be in a car. I wouldn't see why they would end the production of the challenger when sales are so good for them, unless they were replacing it with something else they know would sell like hotcakes for them. Don't you think?
Thanks again
Jimmy

I have a Customer who is getting up there in age and has decided to sell off all his big block 70 convertibles.

Leaning vintage now... Damn this is tough...didn't think it would be this hard. There is an AAR cuda in my site right now, I gotta make sure all the numbers match and that its all legit...still going to look around and see. Priced out a new loaded SRT8 challenger in green envy...brand new...comes to nearly 50K whoah. I bet its really fun to drive though.
Thanks Jimbo

Re: Help me make a decision on a 1:1
FINALLY MADE A DECISION!! :) LOL It was tough... The main reason is: I want to use it. I decided not so much me, me....but us. Sure there are faster out there...but this car can hold my family and its beautiful. I only drove it once so far. You wouldn't even fathom how much attention and smiles it got... points etc. Its an awesome car... and wasn't even anticipating all the gadgets it has on it. I haven't really gotten on it to see what it could do, but I pushed it a tad, and it doesn't take long to get up to 60. Fun little features, like registering 0-60 times, 1/8, 1/4 mile. All kinds of goodies. Too bad I need to put it away for the winter soon. :( I wanted to give a big thank you to all that chimmed in and commented... I know it won't hold its value like a vintage, but to me, the time in the car will outweigh the losses. 10 years from now, my boy will want to drive it to prom, and I'll actually let him... though...I'll be hesitant... LOL... Oh...maybe I'll just drive them both LOL...
I went with the 11' because I didn't see any colors anticipated in 12' that I wanted.....and THIS green does it for me. There may be a 2013 with additional upgrade in HP...I may potentially trade it in, but it'd have to be a green similar to this...or maybe a purple. I'm thinking...just keep forever! The only one with the options I wanted was 250 miles away...and there was only 1. Then 1 in Minny with hail damage. The others were in texas and califoria...and a couple in NY. I didn't want a sunroof... wanted Auto (for my wife) and the stripes...those were tough options... (who would have thought) There was a stripe delete in Omaha area...but to put on the stripes it was 1400. To delete them it was 250 LOL. At first I didn't like the rims, but the more I look at them, the more way cool they are! If anyone has seen this paint in person, its fantastic...lights up with a goldish green color when the sun hits it. Anyway, without further ado, heres the new addition!
Thanks again!!! :)
