Odd request, not for the faint of heart!

Hard work getting that to look like a coffin that small. I'm not going to put one in the Merc.... the curtains will block the view. Toying with loading up some surf boards somewhere. Might be too cliche.<br><br>- E

Ed --<br><br>I'M KIDDING. Gonna hit it with some black pearl today. Gave the second layer of white primer another hit with wet 2400 today.<br><br>- E

I've wet-sanded it and hit it with a coat of high gloss Boyd's black... but the effect was not what I wanted. I blended some deep purple pearl and black, and I did get the effect I wanted. The color is hard to photograph. A flash washes it out to a deep grape... but in person it's closer to black as can be seen in this natural light image. I suspect bright sunlight will get us a better image, but it's overcast today.<br><br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://eric-peterson.org/images/MercuryHearse/039.jpg" style="border:0;"><!--EZCODE IMAGE END--><br><br>This will take a week or so to dry properly before I can mask it and lay down a flat black vinyl top, which when clear coated along with the black-purple pearl and green flames will give the impression of an Armor-Alled matte black.<br><br>Which is also an effect I'm looking for.<br><br>While it's drying I'm going to be experimenting with laying down images of the chrome trim and flames on top of photos of the body. That's next.<br><br>- E
