Steve,
Looks like you are going factory stock but,
Not being too up on bugs, I'm guessing that the tail-lights are not original. They look to be LED I'll assume it's a safety thing. Either way thecar is awesome......................

Pete

They are called snowflake lights. they do resemble LED's, that's the cool part about them. The lenses are actually glass on the outside with aplastic diffuser (tinted black/red)on the inside. Everyone will be seeing some cool changes coming within the next couple of weeks. I got an old cooler from aswap meet over the weekend. It isn't brand specific, but it is red. My plans are to restore it in Pepsi blue and use it when we go to car shows. It will beas nice as the Bug.

Steve

Just like a new car. Which is basically what I have here. The mileage wasn't correct anyway. The speeometer cable was rotted andbroken when I removed it from the car, and I have no idea what the correct mileage was so..... I had it set back as if it was a new car.

Enjoy, Steve

ps, A special thanks goes out to Greg (99Octane) for the little Beetle starring in some of the latest photos.

Thanks very much for the props Steve,
when I saw the amazing work you are doing on this Beetle of yours,
I looked at my collection of 1:18th scale cars, remembering that I had a black VW Bug in there.
When I saw just how much it looked like a miniature version of yours,
I simply HAD to send it! I've been enjoying seeing it peeking out of various corners in your pics!
Great work on that car, like no other restoration I've ever seen.

Can't wait to see a pic of you driving it!
(Gotta get that odometer back up over one mile! )
Greg

Still the best thread ever.
Love the cooler idea. I went to a car show here in Seattle back in June and there were a couple amazing bugs and buses that had restored luggage and coolers togo with the cars. Very nice touch.

And the title states that too. And it is illegal to roll them back and not acknowledge that fact. I am rebuilding thiscar for me... and if I ever sell it I have a complete photo catalog/ and receipts to show everything I have done to this car.

Steve
