Hey Tim, what do you think some of these guys would think of my dads house? :p

I dont get whats wrong with mounting animals after you've gotten the meat from them. You can do both, so why not? Many animals are beautiful to look at, sowhy not make further use of it?
Also, its not always about having a "trophy", but a memory of the hunt. I know alot of deer hunters who mount their first deer they take....

I think this was it? The deer didn't hit the biker. I think the biker found it on the side of the road and didn't want all that jerky to go to waste.
If the picture is inappropriate then Andrea do your magic!
Tim

Good memory Michael.

This is from a bike race that I was actually in. For you Cincinnatians, this happened near Morrow.

The photographer was positioned near the start/finish line and just happened to be taking photos of the lead group coming through when the deer camecrashing into them. Funny thing is, while we were staging before the race began we saw a group of deer go by and joked about watching out for them. Nobodythought it would actually happen. In the photo, the guy on the ground to the left was taken out by the deer. Amazingly, he got up and attempted to remount thebike to rejoin the race only to discover that he had a hoof shaped hole in the top tube of his carbon fiber frame. Otherwise, we was good to go and onlysuffered some bruising. (It helps the he was a former football player).

The deer ran off and was presumably OK.

Steve

I defended hunting but I have little respect for killing an animal just to say that you did. I don't have many good thoughts concerning certain huntingpractices either.

IMO there is nothing with going out and hunting down an animal for it's meat to feed your family. I don't have a problem with mounting that kill if youare proud of it also.
I don't think many who kill a bear actually eats it.

Frank said it. "hic" is Hick lingo. That's what they say after swilling too much corn liquor they've made out in the barn. Is there a zH!t faced emoticon around here somewhere?

Around where I live, city people for the mostpart are despised. It's a battle. Them city folks (lots but not all) can be pretty dis-respectfull,condescending, and rude, and driving 80 mph on our hic roads to get to the beach 5 minutes earlier to throw their garbage everwhere before anyone else. They're tolerated for the summer months because they spend a lotta money. "come for a while, spend yer cash, then leave". Thats' theattitude.

There's a restaurant east of here called Teds that serves up all kinds of tasty treats,........EMU?????? I believe Ted Nugent has even eaten here. He onlylives a few 100 miles away. They get good stuff from all over the planet, including lotsa goodies from the Inuit. Wednesday night jams too.
